RIP Forry. There was just a huge issue of Rue Morgue dedicated to him too. Sucks. I hope his remaining collection goes to the right places instead of being seized upon by a bunch of wolves. Anyone ever visit the Ackermansion?

Non-Music Shit / STUPID COMPUTER HTML/IMAGES QUESTION
« on: November 20, 2008, 09:25:34 PM »
Fuck. Need some help. Whenever I'm creating a page for TB, I keep all the files in a folder on my desktop. All the images, the html doc I'm working on and any additional stuff. Everything is in one place, so all the images should show up when I open the html file in explorer. I've done it this way since the beginning...well, now that I have a newer laptop, things don't seem to be working. After I work with the files for a little while, the images stop showing in the html doc when I open it. So, say I'm playing with the position of the pictures on the page, all of a sudden after a save to check the new look, the images just don't show up anymore, no matter what I do...I dont have time for this kinda bullshit. I have no idea what it is. When I upload the files to the server everything comes out fine. It's just some bullshit happening on my desktop or something? I know jack shit about this stuff, somebody call me a moron and tell me what I'm doing wrong....

Non-Music Shit / Halloween Candy
« on: November 01, 2008, 06:03:32 AM »
Disturbing trends I noticed while handing out candy last night:

- most kids aren't even bothering to dress up anymore
- gaggles of 12 year old girls dressed as sluts aka "Britney Spears/Jessica Simpson/etc... costume"
- lots of mid-Twenties mothers leading their kids around and coming up to the door with their OWN BAGS

best thing that happened by far:

Bunch of little black kids come up in plain clothes. One kid has a clock on. Obviously Flavor Flav. Other kid has some teardrops drawn on his face and fake dreads. Obviously Lil Wayne. Other fat black kid has a Ready to Die shirt on and a gold chain. So I go "Who are you, Biggie?" His friends start busting out laughing at him, kids gets all flustered, and fires back at me "Who you supposed to be, the fat guy from King of Queens?" OH SNAP! He got extra candy.

Non-Music Shit / FREE TACO BELL TUESDAY
« on: October 27, 2008, 06:00:01 AM »
UPDATE: The first tacos, celebrating Jason Barlett's stolen base for Tampa in Game 1, will be available Tuesday, October 28 from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. What can you get for stopping by? A free Crunchy Seasoned Beef Taco. Thanks, Jason!

At least somebody is excited about the World Series, even if the TV networks are fretting about the lack of a big city audience to drive up Nielsen numbers. Taco Bell is one again offering its free taco deal for any stolen base during a game -- the series starts Wednesday at 8pm and runs, potentially, through October 30. If this year goes anything like last year, the tacos will be offered during certain hours on the day following a game where a player steals a base successfully.

If you're a baseball fan -- or watching Fox at all over the next week or so -- you'll hear a lot more about this in the coming days as the series kicks off. Last year's promotion caught some people by surprise, but you can bet Taco Bell will get as much mileage as possible out of its deal witih Major League Baseball this year.

For anyone who thinks this is small potatoes, money-wise, Forbes ran the numbers last year and found that even if only one base was stolen during each game (the average is 1.2), that still adds up to over $200 million in taco dues
