What a bunch of tight asses. I hate Boston, but I have to admit that "Smokin'" is a hell of a tune.

SOUTHERN ROCK IS NO FUCKING JOKE. JUST ASK RONNIE VAN ZANT.

I think .38 Special are funny and all, but I don't actually like them or anything.

Absolute bullshit.

I'll tell you what, it's impossible to deny the power of the heavy duty triple-guitar rock that was coming out of Jacksonville, Florida in the late Seventies. And I dig .38 Special sometimes. So does Todd Trickknee. That being said, the slightest whiff of "Freebird" and I'm ready to regurgitate the Frosted Flakes I ate for breakfast. The Hellacopters really didn't do Skynyrd any favors by covering their entire catalogue either.  In the grand scheme of things ZZ Top owns them all.

In Fort Erie we used to get Labatts Extra Stock, that shit was like moonshine. It was like 10% alcohol or something ridiculous. I think they only made it in the summer or something weird. They also used to make this lager called Grizzly that was really good, and had this cool picture of a bear on the label. Molson Canadian aint that bad, its Molson Golden that tastes like ass. Carlsberg isnt bad, but isnt that a Labatts brand anyway?

The exchange rate is crap right now. Your 14 american is worth about 16 canadian.

Speaking of the B-52's, when I was watching Trekkies I thought Jello Biafra was doing the initial voice over, but then saw it was Fred Schneider. I never realized those two have almost the exact same voice!

SS, whats your take on Metal Mike Saunders?

But Canada does have The Beer Store, where you place your order at the register, and then your cases come mysteriously flying out on a roller belt from the back room. I always enjoyed that. I used to love Canadian beer, but not so much anymore. Labatt's tastes kind of skunky to me now, but I still enjoy a Molson Canadian here and there. And there are a million worse beers than Budweiser.

There used to be this old black guy that hung out at the bar we went to that would drink Crown Royal and milk. That's pretty gross.

Another fave of mine is Captain Morgan's and OJ. Tastes just like baby aspirin.

I haven't done the math, but I'm fairly sure Ice Wine has a higher alcohol content, for whoever asked.

I'm into mexican beer and cheap domestics. I think microbrews and all that fancy shit are for gays. And speaking of gays, I've been on a Bloody Mary kick lately, extra spicy. Don't ask me why. I also dig white russians and Beefeater and tonics (which is what I will be sipping tonight). My sister works at a Mexican restaurant, so I have been known to get fucked up on margaritas (non-frozen) and/or mojitos when she's working. And being from the Niagara wine region, during the holidays I am partial to what is known as "Ice Wine", which is made from frozen grapes and has a syrup like consistency and is super sweet. It's a sipping wine, served chilled, and is very close to being what I imagine the nectar of the gods tasting like. I went to a local winery yesterday and stocked up, and caught a nice buzz on free samples while I was there. And I hate regular wines (unless it is made into sangria).  I have never sampled the Crunk Juice, although I would like to.

This is a great comp. The original press was supposedly 666 copies, but Goner and some other distros have turned up with copies lately, so maybe they did press again? Or someone found some dead stock copies? Paging Dave Hyde...

INTERNATIONAL TREKKIES. I shit you not. Serbian Trekkies, Australian, Italian, Brazilian, you name it. The funniest is two completely smoking Brazilian chicks in bikinis sitting poolside, claiming they are Trekkies. I think they were just lying to get some screen time, and have probably appeared in a 'Buttman does Brazil' episode or two. Plus, they follow up on the Trekkies from the first movie (the dude who rode around in the box is actually married now, and made it a point to let us know he is getting laid).

Scott S.,

So last night I finally caught 'Trekkies 2', and the segment on the burgeoning Sacto Star Trek-inspired-band scene was cool. My eyes were glued to the screen hoping to see you front and center during the NO KILL I footage. But seriously, do you know those dudes? The NoKillI guys seemed OK, like older punks you might know (one of their girlfriends had a Toxic Reasons shirt on), and it was cool to see the Four Eyes dudes as No Kill I: The Next Generation. Those other two bands (Warp 11 or something, looked like some Supersuckers fans that carry the double stigma of also being Trekkies; and NoKillI: Deep Space Nine just looked like Green Day fans). And how about that Klingon Heavy Metal band? Where the singer only had one hand! Nuttty! Scott, have you ever participated in a Star Trek themed Sacto band? (Im guessing no) And if not, why not? What is your take on Sacramento such a breeding ground for Trek bands?

(On a side note, Trekkies 1 and 2 are both interesting viewing.)
