I feel like in both of these examples the minority race is being celebrated and empowered - in the Meat Puppets song, the 'little negro' is rejecting American culture in favor of his own, and in 'Brown Sugar' the slave owner is a slave in his own way to the awesome power of a black woman's sexuality.  If anything, the biggest cultural sensitivity faux pas here is unfortunate word choices.  That said, I'm a white dude who likes both bands a lot so I might not be as conscious of offensiveness in these lyrics as a black person (or a woman of any race) might be.

There are good deals on Discogs if you're willing to put some time into looking for them.  I tend to sell my stuff for less than everyone else so it'll move fast...I'm sure there are lots of other sellers who do the same.

You might also check with moving companies like United and Mayflower - might be more expensive, but they will be more committed to preventing damage to your LPs than an LTL freight carrier would.

Yeah, I would have the shipper palletize the records and go with an LTL (less than truckload) carrier like ABF, Roadway, etc.  It's probably the cheapest/safest way to go - should cost around $300 if they can fit on a single pallet.  I would also recommend having something relatively solid as the bottom layer of the pallet (like a piece of plywood) so there's no damage from the bottom up while it's being moved with pallet jacks, forklifts, etc.

If you want to keep with the 'Satisfaction' motif you could throw in the Drags' 'Anti-Satisfaction'.

Excepting Tom of Finland's artwork, Warkrime's band photo on Discogs is the most homoerotic thing I've ever seen.

Yes, thanks!  Been scouring the internet since this thread appeared.  Of particular interest since I lived in the D/FW area at that time.

EDIT: Great/terrible story - made me feel bad for Mick and Alex.  Thanks again!

EVOL.

I'll repeat a pertinent quote from my buddy Marty: "The best locked grooves provoke stoned arguments about whether they are in fact locked grooves."

That's a great quote.
