Non-Music Shit / Re: Job interview tips?
« on: September 12, 2012, 07:05:16 AM »
This forum has really turned into an "ask a self-helper how to help yourself" kinda forum, which is sick and disgusting to me in so many ways....

Job interview tip: start punching everyone in the face until you get the job by default.

I've noticed this happens with every/any online forum.  Gamers want advice from other gamers on how to get laid.  Termbo degenerates want advice from other degenerates on how to come across as normal human beings.  Makes sense.

Also... I've probably said some of the dumbest shit ever during the last few interviews.  Especially if you go in prepared to answer technical or job-related questions and they start pulling shit like, "So what is the largest animal you have ever killed?" or "Tell me about the biggest regret in your life."  "Which Back to the Future was the best."  (These were all from actual interviews, though not just my own.) .... Or my fucking favorite, "Where do you see yourself in 5 years."  Be prepared to answer dumb vague questions that are some managers idea of getting a "personality" profile from you.  Then again, when you work in the creative field, they probably already know if they are going to hire you or not based on your portfolio and just probing to see if you are an asshole or not.

Yeah, I remember in an earlier season he punched the shit out of the paper towel dispenser.

It's a slow build up, still good, but uh, so far I'm still more impressed with the last two.  I'm hoping the last half of the season shit really hits the fan. It's got to.

And needs more Jesse yelling "BITCH" at people.  I miss that.

Cities / Re: Moving to Baltimore?
« on: August 05, 2012, 03:07:40 PM »
it can be sketchy in certain areas, depends on what you get into will determine the danger level.. but I think it's a pretty cool little town.  Cheap, good shows, decent food, somewhat of an art scene and uh, did I mention it was cheap?

consulted my life partner (is from Buffalo, we live in DC) who says he thinks Baltimore is more "dangerous" than Buffalo, but that Buffalo is more block by block where Baltimore is more segregated-- for the average person who is not wandering around trying to score dope at all hours of the night it's fine.

But yeah, i'm from moscow, know few punks in st.pete as well so if you need some advice i may probably help.

Cool, yeah this sounds nuts but I'm going there at the end of November.  If there are shows or anything that would be rad, I will PM you my email.  I imagine it will be freezing cold and mostly a lot of drinking inside.

Our Russian friend is going to be with us (he lives in not in Moskow anymore but somewhere in Siberia) so we'll have a local to keep us out of trouble at least.  But yeah I'm think that I don't look too foreign enough to beat up or whatever.  I figure they are more used to Asians or in my case, half-Asians than hispanics or brothas.

Kevin- Yeah I've never felt in danger even walking around alone NYC at night.  Parts of DC though, are sketchy as fuck and I hurry my ass through them.  If there were wild dogs and shit, I'd probably try and climb a tree fall break something and contract rabies

If you're in Moscow during the summer time I highly recommend Swan Lake, a very fun outdoor venue in the middle of Gorky Park. The parties there were always a blast even if the music isn't particularly "termbo-approved." 6/2 was another fun bar, but I think it closed down. There's some other cool ones I visited, I can't remember the names but I can find out if you're really interested. If you're looking to do something more PUNK, grab a bottle of booze and hang out on Arbat street, where you're bound to befriend some crust-punk kids. For art: Garage Center or Winzivod. I'd also recommend a visit to the Soviet video arcade museum.

That all sounds cool.  Thanks!

Later this year I am going to St. Petersburg and Moskow.  Maybe somewhere in Siberia.  This is likely ridiculous, but any termbos out there?  What's the best way to avoid getting killed?
