Fuck, I nearly reached for Abreu and am now wishing I did. The kid swings easy and hits with power to all fields. .290-35-110 not out of the question.

Tim Hudson lookin' just like the borderline HOF'er he is, and exactly what I thought he would be for the Giants: 13-15 wins, 200 IP, ERA in the mid-3s.

I have no idea what Vogelsong is going to look like this year. His spring was so shitty....then again, all he needs to be is a 5th starter. If he puts up a 10-10/4.15 line he'll never see a playoff start anyway.

The Vogelsong line is more likely what you'll get from Huddy. At this point he's probably a 1.5 WAR pitcher who can't really be counted on for more than about 160 IP. Average #4, solid #5 on a good staff.

Vogelsong will be garbage again if he can't get his K rate up. His fastball has been declining in velocity to the point where he doesn't even throw it half the time anymore. That's a pretty big problem since his heater was, by far, his most effective pitch. In fact that's the only pitch in his arsenal that's been above league average over his career (except one outlier year where his curve was outstanding). If he can't touch 90 anymore he's going to wash out pretty soon.

I keep seeing these closers pop up with saves and I just can't bring myself to roster them, guys like Valverde and Fields and Lindstrom and Broxton. The majority of these fuckers are going to grab a few saves and then blow up your ERA before being demoted. I'll stick with my 3 dudes until [redacted] is ready to take over the job in [redacted], which shouldn't be too long. I'd rather have a young inexperienced guy with tons of upside than some thirtysomething career underachiever with no out pitch that fell backwards into the closer job by being the tallest midget in a third world bullpen. Seriously, fuck this stat.

You bros with your smartphones. I've missed out on the last two closer pickups by mere minutes.

Abreu looks dialed in already. You can put the questions about whether he'll be able to acclimate to MLB pitching to rest. Kid's gonna be a monster.

Korean babyface got me a QS last night after the bullpen blew the lead. Lovin' it.

10/292 for Cabrera. I'm not sure a single one of these mega-deals has turned out to be a good idea. It'll be interesting to see if Detroit can unload him to anyone when he's thirty pounds heavier and putting up a 270-20-75 line in 5 or 6 years.

And Fister hits the DL..,..

...while leaving a gaping hole in Washington's rotation.

Also, Santana playing third means an extra 50-60 plate appearances and less injury concern, which in turn means a monster 30-35 HR season could be in the cards. Nothing better than a fantasy catcher that doesn't actually play catcher.

I like predictable. 20-20 guys are going to be at a premium this year with stolen bases trending down, and Desmond/Gomez/Calhoun/Kinsler/Victorino all potentially fit the bill and should score a ton of runs too.

If Rios slumps, he crumbles mentally and what should be a 50 at-bat slump turns into a 300 at-bat slump. Proceed with caution.

I think my O will be just fine. My pitching is what scares me.

I see 225-30 from that group, but I tend to project conservatively. I really don't like Gyorko (I see him as a .245-18-60 guy this year) and I think this will be a down year for both Rios and Encarnacion. I do see 30+ HR potential from both McCann (if he stays healthy) and Rizzo (maybe more from him), though. Moss will get you 30, but he might hit .225 while doing it. I like Jones's chances for a mega-star season this year or next.

It'll be interesting to see who this year's Bautista/Chris Davis is.

I don't think anyone's getting near 270. That requires a lack of injury and player regression, which is of course not going to happen.

Shit never shakes out the way it's supposed to, but that's half the fun.

Bubbles wins "most stoned draft" as four players start on the DL. Miggy will keep your head above water with a typical .325/45/130

Told ya I needed to research.

Anyway word on Profar and Bourn came in the day after the draft. What can you do. They were both expected to be ready by April 1st. And Kemp will be back the first or second week of the season. Big picture: these guys were all drafted as backups or to be part of the UTIL circle-jerk. So who cares. Profar will be jettisoned for some other infield backup this week.

Minor was a miscue. I wanted Austin Jackson and drafted Mike Minor. Still not sure how that happened. Probably didn't help that I had one and a half eyes on the TV watching college basketball. But he'll be back in a month, too.

I've got my lineup projected for 210 homers and 150 steals. No batting average sink holes and a couple of guys who will hit well over .300. Looks pretty good to me.

Pitching is always a crapshoot. Guesswork between which shitty closers to pick up and which young guys to pluck off the wire. Who knows.

Trout should be on his way toward MVP #3. But I guess when your team is garbage you get the shaft like that.

My standings are exactly the same as denkinger's, except I've got Texas over Oakland in the AL West and the ChiSox in third in the garbage bin known as the AL Central.

AL MVP: Trout
NL MVP: Harper

AL Cy: Darvish
NL Cy: Strasburg

AL ROY: Jose Abreu
NL ROY: George Springer Billy Hamilton

Biggest names to change unis midseason: David Price and Ryan Braun.

Dodgers over Yankees in the WS.
