Found their first single in a thrift store in Ottawa, ended up trading it to some punk collector going by the name of Rob-o? Got a Gay Bikers in Bondage single and a Salvation Army single for that. Apparently he came all the from LA to hunt for records in the great white north going from bus terminal to bus terminal trading to dumb kids like me.
Yeah they're no good.

That sounds like Rob Noxious, or whatever name he is going by these days.  A few years ago he passed through town here ... when I got home from work my phone had something like 50 calls from payphones that day. I stupidly answered the next time the phone rang and it was him. He wanted to come over and trade records. I told him I had to leave shortly and go back to work (which was true, but I didn't really want to deal with him anyway). He kept insisting until I told him to piss off. He did manage to get hold of a few other local collectors and harass them for trades. Apparently he was lugging a couple big suitcases full of records and traveling around by bus bothering whoever he could find.

As far as P.K. goes, their first 7" and LP are OK. Anything else can be ignored.

Music Shit / Older Vinyl on Demand releases
« on: December 26, 2007, 12:37:02 PM »
I see that Fusetron and Forced Exposure still have some older Vinyl on Demand releases listed (although that doesn't necessarily mean they are available). I'm not familiar with these, other than the catalog/label descriptions - anyone recommend whether they are worth getting? Do they fall more into the "minimal/wave" (which I prefer) or "industrial/noise" categories?

Die Todliche Doris - 6 LP box and a couple of other later LPs
Head Resonance Company: 15 Tracks for Unknown People 1980-84
Hermann Kopp: Japgirls in Synthesis and Mondo Carnale LPs
Mutter / Max Muller: CD des Monats
Exil System: The Exil-Sessions 1979-2004
Das Synthetische Mischgewebe: 80's Retrospektive Vol.1
Non Toxique Lost: Ogre-sse LP
V/A - Wahrnehmungen 1980/1981
E.G. OBLIQUE GRAPH: Complete Oblique
John Duncan: First Recordings 1978-1985

Does ThingsDogsDo have a theme song yet?  If he not needs one - maybe listing all of his various ebay personas.  And be sure to include this auction in the lyrics cos he DIDN'T FUCKING WIN IT - some other desperate straight did.

This one doesn't follow his normal bidding pattern. Sometimes he puts in a low bid near the beginning of the auction and then bids (likely automatically) some ridiculous amount with a few seconds left if he really wants it. He doesn't usually bother with multiple bids going up a few dollars at a time. If it is a particularly obscure and tasty item he sometimes doesn't even bother with the lowball opening bid.
Musically I can't imagine this one being worth more than about $2 but I don't know much about it. Maybe it is the latest undiscovered KBD/powerpop gem:

SOZZ - PATROL CAR B/W LURCH GANG 7''

I wanna hear it, anybody?

I have a CD full of mp3s of Swiss bands including both Sozz 7"s. I don't really care for mp3s but these
are 320 kbps, so they're at least listenable and more convenient for listening to at work.

Some things I wanna hear:
Invader - Don't Blame It On Me 7" (Australia)
Slinky - Run To The Doctor 7" (Belgium)
Terry & The Dreambeats - The Clown Song 7" (Canada)
Shas - EP (Sweden)
Jim Knopf & Lucas der Lokomotiv Fuhrer - TV Time 7" (Switzerland)
Fhab 4 - Dead Beatles 7" (US)
Smart Alex - Chitter Chat 7" (US) ... saw this one on eBay for $700+ ... I'd like to hear how "good" it
  really is
Dangerous Rhythm -  Stray Cat Blues EP (Mexico)
Lots more, those are what comes to mind right at the moment.

You know you're having a bad day when you've just paid EUR124,000 for a can of shit and after you have just proudly placed it on the mantle of your fireplace, it explodes.

Yeah, same guy, and he traded in zoloft_anaconda for amateur_gynecologist, too.

He seems to just use thingsdogsdo now. It can be amusing to see when some unknown "powerpop/punk" obscurity comes along how much him and/or lostandfound_de will bid on it.
