speaking of Jack O' Fire, what's up with Tim Kerr these days?  I liked the Lord High Fixers quite a bit.

the bit in Arthur claims they're from Memphis!

ARGH!

I saw that and I kind of annoyed.  Guess they just saw the Goner address and assumed. Stupid.

Charles Mingus: Tijuana Moods

is there any contemporary jazz that's any good?  I like stuff like Antennas Erupt! and Ettrick which is to me is jazz cuz it's boundry pushing and I've heard there's some sort of free fazz society/workshop based out of SF that attracts alot of wierdo noiseheads and stuff but anything labeled "JAZZ" these days is usually just some square waxing poetic.  I think one of the reasons why jazz isn't more popular among young people is because it's treated almost as a relic of sorts.  It's put on a pedistal that's far too expesive and seeemingly out of reach.  I know I can't afford to see most of the big names.  It's unfortunate.  I studied music theory for a few years and there were a few classmates of mine who were jazzbos and they would look down on anyone who couldn't sightread.  But fuck that.  We need more DIY jazz!

I would post pictures of me holding my cats, but I fucking hate cats. Not to the extent that Kent McClard does, but I don't like 'em. You will also notice that the one Incision 7" art is a pic from the Kent State shooting...thus, making this post all around relevent, since people are talking about Kent McClard. wakka wakka Fuck, I even thing that was a lame joke and I just typed it.

Post some pictures of you guys playing with Bruce Cole.  That show was awesome.

Iggy Pop - The Idiot

I know I'm in the minority when I say I like this and Lust For Life better than any of the Stooges records.

No Country For Old Men is the first film that I've really liked in my lifetime that has won the Academy Award for best picture.  Before now you gotta go all the way back to...uh...The Deer Hunter in '78 to find one I like.

Glad it won.

i've studied plenty of political campaigns (and can give you a good list of books on them if you want)

Yes, please do.

Obama is a great speaker.  Ever since his speech at the '04 (or was it the '05...can't rememebr) Dem. convention, I've liked him.  It was the best political speech I've ever heard.
