Years ago I was the bass player in the Jenny Mae band and we opened for Chris Knox in Philadelphia and NYC but none of knew what he looked like and after we played in Philadelphia we were in such a rush to start partying we headed out to NYC the moment we were done.  Anyway, the next day in the afternoon before the gig @ Brownies, some little, kinda crusty guys comes up to us (somewhere on Avenue A) and tells us how great we were last night and everything but I am sure we were too busy looking for a bar to pay attention.  Anyway later that night that guy (who we thought was a homeless NYC dude) gets up on stage after us.  It was Chris Knox.

Kevin looks sly, Matt looks emphatic (probably about how much another band sucks) and Rich looks unimpressed.

I saw this happening and all I could think about was that movie "face in the crowd" where Andy Griffith's "CLOWNING ON BITCHES" character just takes over the airwaves.  Matt looked so natural.
