i went to siren fest once. the main stage was impossible to see and almost impossible to hear. the other stage was better. i remember trail of dead playing and bein really wasted and security having to fence them into the stage cuz they were climbing on shit. then people started whipping bottles at em. they couldnt finish any songs and people were screamin mean thigns at them. shits totally free though. that was also a while ago it might be improved upon now.  id say itd be worth it to go, watch the black lips, and then enjoy coney. you can go swimming, shoot the freak, and eat some nathan's (which are pretty overrated). ill probably do that.

if you do go, careful pissin on the street. the bathrooms get really long lines, so its hard not to, but i almost got arrested for doin that when i was 16 by some fat sweaty cop in a golf cart who called me a fuck. he was really pissed.

the last time i saw sonic youth i was right in front, facing kim gordon. as usual they start jammin out and then kim puts her foot up on the monitor in a moment of unaldulterated rock. she was wearing a poofy skirt and for the next 15 or so minutes i had to make a serious effort to see something besides her grand canyon. she was like 45 at the time. my buddy standing next to me thought it was great. hes also gotta thing for librarians.  his favorite website used to be 420girls.com.
