saw him like 3-4 years ago with a drummer and it was totally sick.  played a good amount of stuff from the modern lovers.  girlfriend, pablo picasso, some other ones.  i like a lotta his solo stuff.

Honestly never heard it before. I just saw a reissue of it and passed because I have enough good-to-middling "psych freakout" records already.

But it's the Jim Van Bebber + curling of psych freakout records.

how much was it? two years ago i woulda jumped at a chance to buy a reissue.  nowadays i could go either way.  if it was cheap enough id probably buy it for the first song alone. half of the album is like bongos and gunting/chanting etc.  not to say that its not sick as death and insane its just not somethin i revisit very regularly.

note: im currently listenin to mungo jerry and lovin it

i have mp3s if you want.  one of the most totally fucked records of its kind.  i was listenin to it loud one time and my roommate came and started bangin my door down and yelling.  i opened the door and he looked really freaked out and said "woah are you ok?!! i thought you were hurt or somethin"  sometimes i wish it had done more of the really sick songier type stuff and less of the total freakout type shit.  kinda makes the godz look like simon and garfunkel or somethin.

abc used to be sick yo!! i used to buy a 6 at the deli around the corner for 3 bucks and nicks of weed in the back and that was enough to rage on when i was like 13.  i even remember a few shows i went to there where i had to work all day but i convinced my pops to let me off for a bit to walk over there and see the show with my apron and shit still on.  shit totally changed after they got that no party policy goin on.  i remember it was pretty soon after this night there was a big show and there was all these rumors that skinheads were gonna raid it so the cops showed up even before the skins and went to town on the place. after that i remember them just having tons of tech metal shows and shit i wasnt interested in. i think they had to raise a buncha money and bring the place up to code to keep it open.  back in the day it was probably the sickest place ever for a kid who was into punk.

crazy eddie antar did indeed go to jail for fraud.  his books were beyond cooked.  the guy in the commericals wasnt him but a local jersey disc jockey.  my fathers friend shared a cell with the real dude.  they tried bringin it back around 5 years ago with the same guy in the ads but it didnt last long.
