Friends,

As (some of) you may know, the legendary, inspiring, forever-innovative, amazing, aggravating, listener-supported, otherworldly and unprecedented force that is WFMU is in its last week of our Annual Fundraising Marathon and we are way behind what we need to raise to keep us going for another year.

At a great expense, but on a minimal budget, we offer freeform, commercial-free radio for FREE, and once a year we get cozy on the mics and ask you to donate what you can to keep this station alive. And hey! We're educated! We know that public goods are one of the great economic market failures due to inevitable free riders BUT STILL... we believe in this crazy model. THANK YOU TO THOSE WHO HAVE ALREADY DONATED. If you're a listener, follow the link below to add a little $$$ to the cause (and credit your pledge to my show if you like):

http://www.wfmu.org/playlists/DF  or  https://www.wfmu.org/marathon/pledge.php?pr=DF

I'll be on the air this Friday 9:30AM - 12:20PM asking for your dollars and giving away a buncha prizes. I'll be offering a CD compilation premium this year of cassette material that I put together from The Netherlands in the 1980s, artwork by Arturo Medrano:

Throughout the show I'll be giving away records by PETER JEFFERIES, EXILES FROM CLOWNTOWN, MAURIZIO BIANCHI, EDVARD GRAHAM LEWIS, EASTLINK, MULTICULT, GLAXO BABIES, CRIME and the WARFARING STRANGERS: DARKSCORCH CANTICLES comp. Plus an EVER/NEVER RECORDS GRAND PRIZE PACK at the end of the show.

Thanks to all who donated the records above and to Arturo for the artwork and to all those who have already donated their $$$ <3

Folks should grab that Ernest Gibson LP too. Good Morricone-groove meets Kraut-dub haze. I shoulda' reviewed it over a year ago, but the guy was practically my Bro-in-law once...so it felt WEIRD.

Good description! I love this record. A favorite of the year for me. His band Net Shaker has some great records as well.

I need one. I hope to find one in France (as well as the single), as shipping from the USA are crazy nowadays.

I sold a couple copies to Born Bad and Souffle Continu while in Paris the other week. Not many, but maybe there are some left. If not, Staalplaat in Berlin probably has a copy you can mailorder, though he may not have put it on the site yet.

Three years after our re-release of the band's debut 7", we're happy to announce Coitus Int.'s reissued debut self-titled LP from 1981. Reacting to the lack of creativity among punk rock bands in Utrecht at the time, Coitus Int. revealed a slower, darker, bass-driven approach to their music on this record. This is an essential companion to their 'Dead Excitement' EP and the beginning of a remarkable but largely overlooked 15-year career of self-released music.

Edition of 500. More info and links to songs here: www.bunkerpop.com

Thanks for this! The sounds coming out of Yow here are terrifying. "Blockbuster" is always best heard live, and this one closing out the set is a monster
