Friends,
As (some of) you may know, the legendary, inspiring, forever-innovative, amazing, aggravating, listener-supported, otherworldly and unprecedented force that is WFMU is in its last week of our Annual Fundraising Marathon and we are way behind what we need to raise to keep us going for another year.
At a great expense, but on a minimal budget, we offer freeform, commercial-free radio for FREE, and once a year we get cozy on the mics and ask you to donate what you can to keep this station alive. And hey! We're educated! We know that public goods are one of the great economic market failures due to inevitable free riders BUT STILL... we believe in this crazy model. I'll be on the air this Friday 9:30AM - 12:20PM asking for your dollars and giving away a buncha prizes. I'll be offering a CD compilation premium this year of cassette material that I put together from The Netherlands in the 1980s, artwork by Arturo Medrano:
Throughout the show I'll be giving away records by PETER JEFFERIES, EXILES FROM CLOWNTOWN, MAURIZIO BIANCHI, EDVARD GRAHAM LEWIS, EASTLINK, MULTICULT, GLAXO BABIES, CRIME and the WARFARING STRANGERS: DARKSCORCH CANTICLES comp. Plus an EVER/NEVER RECORDS GRAND PRIZE PACK at the end of the show.
