Heya!

I'm putting together a new 7" set sale list that will have at least 300-400 records I've never offered before as well as another few hundred that have been stored/not offered for a couple years. The list is too large to post here or other forums, so I'll be uploading a multi-page PDF of the sale list that you can download.

The sale is all over the map. It's 85% or more Punk, New Wave, Power Pop, HC, indie from '70s-'90s with a handful of post '90s things. I'll try not to make you slog through tons of '90s crud to see the better '70s-'80s stuff. Any of the common stuff or out-right crap will be sent to the last few pages as part of a separate bargain list. There aren't any $$$ items on the list, but there will be some medium-rare things and clean, affordable copies of more common, but classic Punk, New Wave, Indie singles in there. The '90s stuff is mainly decent to great Garage and Garage Punk with some HC and Pop Punk.

The list will first go out to past customers and others already subscribed to my Rerun Records email newsletter. I'll remove sold items and post the link to the list here and other public places after those people have a full week to respond. If you want to make sure you receive it first, you can sign up for the Rerun Crud newsletter on the front page of www.RerunRecordsSTL.com The newsletter only goes out when there are new label releases or new set sale lists, so we don't bother you much once you subscribe.

The list is about half done, and I hope to have it finished within the next two weeks at most.

Thanks
Jason

Need some new records?!?! How about FREE records and CDs?!?
We've been working on adding lots of new and used stuff to the web store. We just listed a bunch of Punk/HC reissue CDs (lots of UK '70s-80s punk from Overground Records in the UK and Mystic '80s HC stuff that's now OOP!) as well as new Punk reissue vinyl from other labels. We've also uploaded a couple hundreds used LPs and rare/oop CDs in the last week or so and will continue to as time allows. Don't forget the MAX LOAD LP+CD+DVD on our BDR label is still hot of the presses and getting rave reviews! It contains their classic X Rod 7" from 1979 and tons of unreleased demos, plus a live on TV in 1981 DVD!

I thought this might appeal to some folks here...I got in a pile of dead stock copies of this EP from 1982 by Rikki Rush. I haven't had time to rip it yet for audio samples, but I'll try to get to that in the next couple days.

My description from the store:

Rikki Rush-American Dream 7"EP
1982-Easy Action Records

Fontana, CA low rent Power Pop/Rock from 1982. Comes off like a rough-around-the-edges Bomp! and Cheap Trick fan record. Four song EP on red vinyl. "Pop Side" and "Rock Side". Nice double sided insert with several pics of Rikki and the gang.

These are original, dead stock copies. Although they are all generally in great condition, some covers have minor storage/rub wear. Vinyl may be a bit dusty but is unplayed.

Listed here:

Probably nothing too interesting to most posters here in the auctions, but I'll have a big batch of punk, new wave, power pop, garage, etc in the next week or so. I'll probably do a set sale list here, too.

Anyway, this batch hasL Brogues-Ain't No Miracle Worker OG, Homegrown-Loaded (great Memphis Stones rock), Dynamite Butch (good early '70s hard rock), some choice modern soul and St. Louis rarities, a few rap singles, etc.

...plus a buncha buy it nows listed, since they were free to list.

The long awaited MAX LOAD release is now ready to ship!

(Crummy cell phone quick pic shows all sides of the packaging.)
MAX LOAD-Max Load LP+CD+DVD
(2013-BDR Records) (BDR #6)

When you say Belleville, IL, non-locals usually assume it's one of the zillion Chicago suburbs. It's far from it. Just a few miles across the Mississippi from St. Louis, it's another small, river town. In the late '70s, punk barely happened in St. Louis. Except for Max Load, it didn't even get noticed in Belleville. The river provides far more isolation between the states than one may realize. Bitter geographic rivals for no good reason. That didn't stop these guys from making a noise on their side.

Max Load was formed and began playing live shows around Belleville in 1978. They soon were playing in St. Louis as well, but they never would be treated as equals. They were often forced to play first, before much less competent bands, or dead last, when the St. Louis crowd was anxious to get to the after-party. Last often meant playing to an empty room, rather than being the coveted headlining spot. Out shining most of the Missouri bands around at the time, they released a scorching two song 45 ("X-Rod" b/w "Magazine Sex") in 1979 on their own label. It was mostly intended as a calling card to secure gigs, but some copies were sold locally and a few even distributed by Bomp! Records in CA. The band would go on to record studio demos in 1980 at the request of Epic Records and would commit countless songs to tape with their own 4-track recorder. They were also the only punk band in the area to pay attention to and be featured on the short-lived cable access TV show, Street Beat.

Although Max Load started out with a fairly traditional punk sound, by 1981 they started writing more post punk and art punk influenced material. This new direction can be heard on the included 4-track demos. Like so many other bands, they never got that record deal or big break they were hoping for. By late 1982, most members had moved on to new projects and the band was gone by 1983. It would be another ten or so years before their record would be compiled on the Killed By Death bootleg compilation series and they?d get some much deserved recognition outside the area. The 45 is now considered one of the best Midwestern punk singles of the era, and a copy with the picture sleeve is one of the rarest U.S. punk collectibles.

The Max Load release is comprised of all studio recordings from 1979-1983. The X-Rod 45 is included, along with 22 never-before-released 8-track and 4-track demos. The package includes a 14 song LP, a 24 song CD and a DVD that features a 20-song live performance, recorded for cable access TV in 1981. The CD and DVD come with a title card in a protective sleeve that's tucked inside the LP jacket, along with a double sided 11"x17" insert featuring numerous photos, gig posters and extensive liner notes.

Music Shit / Germs-Lexicon Devil sleeve...legit?
« on: January 21, 2013, 09:00:41 AM »
I got this Germs sleeve (no record) awhile back in a stack of records that came from a collection with mostly other items from the same era. I don't own Lexicon Devil (real or boot), so I have nothing to compare it against. It's bright yellow paper (lightning on my pictures is crummy), seems to be offset printed and the paper stock looks/feels "right". Not a photocopy or brand new paper. It came in a slightly oversized poly bag that had been taped at one time, which I've seen on other Slash releases...but never know if it was a store that did it. If anyone can help with tell-tale signs it's legit or fake, lemme know please. Thanks.

Yeah, I know...Ebay spam is not as much fun as a set sale, but here's my crap. Free listings were the motivation, then it's back to Discogs and set sales.

Punk, HC, Metal, Rock, Garage, Rap, etc. Some crud, some good stuff.

Hello discerning music buyers-

That's right, we're back again with two new releases! As promised, we've returned to early punk and related reissues. We have a new 7" on BDR Records, our St. Louis-artists-only label and a CD only release that is produced and distributed for the band by Rerun Records. We've also decided to sell off the remaining TEST PRESSINGS of Rerun releases. All of them feature alternate art and are small, hand-numbered editions. Most of them are just a few bucks more than the standard pressing! Check 'em out here: http://www.rerunrecordsstl.com/STORE.html#!/~/category/id=1462792&offset=0&sort=nameAsc

The Philosophic Collage-s/t 7"ep
(2012-BDR Records) (BDR #7)

According to the original St. Louis punk crowd, the Philosophic Collage and band leader Craig Kurtz (aka Timothy Tyme) were mildly difficult, if not completely off-putting. Their brand of abrasive music and Craig's "genius" schtick was too hard to take. When the band released this EP in 1981, most were confused by the four blasts of Art Punk/Midwestern No Wave, uh...if there really is such a thing as No Wave in the Midwest. It did impress Rough Trade enough to pick it up for distribution, even if the local response was less than enthusiastic.

The band only managed to play a handful of area gigs before nobody wanted to book them. They were far more successful in Chicago. Playing larger gigs to more receptive audiences and even signing on with a manager. Two cassettes were released after the EP, but it was all over by 1982 when Craig split the band up after an attempt to relocate to Chicago had failed.

BDR Records (the St.Louis-only division of Rerun Records) presents a deluxe reissue of this curiosity. 500 copies pressed on thick black vinyl. Housed in a heavy duty glue-pocket sleeve with a double-sided 14"x7" insert featuring vintage 'zine write-ups, ads and reviews, along with new liner notes by Craig Kurtz.

Tracklist:
Side A
-Genius
-Planned Obsolescence
Side B
-Toxic Poppies
-Headline Deadline

AND

The Ninnies-Why Not? CD
(2012-Rerun/Stupid Records) (RERUN #019/STD 002)

The Ninnies were a bouncy powerpop/ROCK band from the far Northwest Chicago suburb of Mundelein, IL. They weren't trying to be the next Cheap Trick like so many others around that area in those days. Instead they were just a group of drinking buddies playing music for fun. The Ninnies never even really tried to be part of the Chicago scene. Instead, they stayed in Mundelein and ruled backyard parties and the local bowling alley from 1978-1981.

They released one 45 in 1980 on their own Stupid Records. It didn't have a flashy picture sleeve and was mostly unknown to Punk and powerpop collectors until a member of the band launched a Ninnies website with a bit of info and a few pictures. When three members of the band were featured on the St. Louis based Scene of the Crime radio show in 2008, the renewed interest in the band sparked an idea to collect the band's recordings before the tapes rotted completely.

The Why Not? CD collects the entire seven song studio session that produced the original 45, rehearsal demos, live tracks and more! All original material recorded 1979-1980. Classic photos of the band are included along with new liner notes by bass player John Azzato (aka Johnny A). The source tapes were far from perfect, but we've done everything possible to enhance their audio quality. Mid-to-lo fi fun is to be expected! Produced and distributed by Rerun Records for Johnny A and Stupid Records.

M.O.T.O.-No Sleep ?Til Turku LP/CD
(2012-Blast of Silence/Svart/Airiston Punk-Levyt)

Hard-On Rock?n Roll! New Orleans based garage punk / power pop legends M.O.T.O. are back with their tenth full length album. The Record is co-released by Airiston Punk-Levyt, Blast of Silence Records and Svart Records ? all hailing from Turku, Finland. The songs on this album were recorded in studio ?Dwyers? earlier this year while the primus motor of the band, Paul Caporino, visited Finland (early January 2012). The album was later mixed and mastered by Caporinos trusted man, Garret Hammond (Kill MOTO, Raw Power, etc), in Downers Grove, IL, USA. This time Paul Caporino brings you wore-down catchy and up-tempo tunes with a lo-fi, under produced sound guaranteed to rock your socks off! Visitors in this album consist from the cream of the alternative scene in Finland: Niila Kunnari (Boredom Boys, God Given Ass, The Heartburns) on drums, Kerttu Vauras (Khatarina, Kovaa Rasvaa) on guest vocals in ?Big Emotional Life? and Mikko Luukko (Sweatmaster) on guitar ? just to name a few. After 30 years Caporino still delivers and M.O.T.O. is very much alive and kicking! They don't regard him as the ?Beatles of punk rock? for nothing! The most important genre release of 2012 so far?

Rerun is taking a short detour from the usual reissues and archival releases to bring you three sorta-contemporary releases by related bands from our own backyard. All three bands have common members, and everything was recorded in the last seven years or so. All three releases are on our "modern band" subsidiary: RERUN MODERN RELEASING COMPANY. These will most likely be the only releases you'll ever see on RMRC. We're also pleased to bring you two new releases of older material from the Screamin' Mee-Mees camp!

All Rerun and BDR releases, swell Punk/HC reissues from other labels and used stuff (only about 15% of our used stock up so far, but it's still several hundred items) are available in our store: http://rerunrecordsstl.com/STORE.html

Medical Tourists-s/t LP
(RERUN #007/IMPEX 002)

High concept but low brow St. Louis band. Geek Wave meets Nerd Punk but without any cutesy cliches. Bass, guitar, synth and drum machine. Songs about being positive, city lights, having the proper attire and moving forward in every regard. This is not music for sloth.
Recorded and assembled by the band in their practice space. Almost two years in the making, but we think it was worth the wait. Brilliant cover painting by the much revered Ron Keas.
Co-released with Import Export Records out of Paris, France. Pressing of 500 copies on thick, black vinyl that also comes with an in-flight brochure.

Sample tracks and full info can be found here: http://rerunrecordsstl.com/medical_tourists.html

SYNTAX ERROR-s/t 7?ep
(RERUN #009/RMRC #998)

This band was from St. Louis. They were obviously going for some type of cool-kid synth punk sound when they started in 2003. Lucky for us, their ineptitude and lack of owning a synth left us with a bargain basement version of Casio fueled wave-punk. Drum machine, bass, guitar with ?? effects and an overdriven Casio keyboard. Song subjects cover disgust of humans and robotic love. What else is there?
The three songs on this record were taken from a demo session recorded in 2004. We had the original engineer remix and remaster them for optimal vinyl playback. Pressed on thick, black vinyl and packaged in a heavyweight glue pocket sleeve with a postcard insert. Featuring two members of Prefecture and Medical Tourists.

Sample track and full info can be found here: http://rerunrecordsstl.com/SYNTAX_ERROR.html

Prefecture-s/t 7?ep
(RERUN #011/RMRC #997)

Prefecture started in late 2006 and for a brief moment anyway, was a punk house favorite in St. Louis. They played snarling Punk-core. Not fast enough for the thrash-only crowd but certainly too abrasive for the hipster/un-punk set.
The band recorded this EP themselves, in their practice space. It's loud. It's raw. It's what Prefecture is. The record has three mid-tempo wall-o-punk-fuzz tunes and one Discharge-y blast. Three of the songs were originally intended for release as a 7" on Sack O' Shit Records in 2008. It's about five years later we figured it was time to make that happen.
Pressed on thick, black vinyl and packaged in a heavyweight sleeve with lyrics and pictures. Featuring members of SYNTAX ERROR, Medical Tourists, The Adult Toys, Civic Progress and Manipulation.

Sample tracks and full info can be found here: http://rerunrecordsstl.com/Prefecture.html

The Screamin' Mee-Mees-Comedy Hour CS/CDR
(2012-RERUN #017)

Although the Screamin' Mee-Mees are best known for their 1977 EP, the D.I.Y. Punk masterpiece "Live From The Basement", the boys had been making tapes since the late '60s. They recorded goofball rock n' folk songs on guitar and homemade drums, Kraut Rock-n'-pot fueled white noise jams and the odd bit of comedy, organ music and other experimentations.
This cassette is a real gem I'm proud to have re-discovered during one of our many excavations of Bruce Cole's basement. Recorded around '69 or '70, the tape was long thought lost and not heard for a couple decades. The first side is Bruce and Jon of the Mee-Mees putting on a production of "TV shows" with songs and bits, including a variety show with the boys posing as a couple rock bands. The second side starts with Bruce and Jon recording their observations as they drove around Ferguson in Jon's Javelin station wagon. After that trek, the boys head back home to play a handful of original songs. Vocals by both, with Bruce on acoustic guitar and Jon on coffee can drums. About a full hour glimpse into the mind's of the Mee-Mees, a very, very scary place.
Shrink-wrapped, pro-made, chrome cassette with full color cover. CS is limited to 100 copies. CDR format also available. CDR duped on archival grade disc with full color cover. Packaged in standard CD jewel case.

Sample tracks and full info can be found here: http://rerunrecordsstl.com/screamin_mee-mees.html

Bruce Cole-Oh, Lou Lost The Elvis Tapes CD/CDR
(2012-RERUN #018)

A solo release by Bruce of The Screamin' Mee-Mees! Almost a full hour of just Bruce singing songs with his guitar.
Side A is Bruce's solo cassette release from 1989 titled The Lost Elvis Tapes. It's just Bruce and his trusty electric guitar. The originally cassettes were mostly mailed for review or distributed to the patrons of a couple of Bruce's neighborhood bars in Ferguson, MO. Very few, if any were sold to the public. The material was reissued on CDR by Slippytown almost a decade ago, but even that was a tiny edition of 50 CDRs. Side B is a collection of acoustic songs compiled from Bruce's various basement tapes. About half was recorded in the early to mid '90s and the rest going back to the early '70s. Bruce does original material along with a few covers (Capt. Beefheart, Kevin Ayers, etc) in the Dog Face style.

M.O.T.O.-No Way Street LP
2012-Blast Of Silence Records (BOS001)/Svart Records (SVR090)

No Way Street is the last album Paul recorded with his usual Chicago, full band line-up before moving back to New Orleans. It sat in limbo for a couple years before Blast of Silence and Svart got involved, but we're happy it's available for public consumption now. Finnish only release.
BofS/Svart says: Finally on wax! From the composing pen of a songwriting genius that is Paul Caporino, comes yet another bunch of timelessly catchy, uptempo, pieces of sheer brilliance. This is lo-fi garage punk like it?s supposed to be done! Including the hit singles such as ?No Way Street?, ?Countdown To Menopause?, ?Catamaran? and ?Thong Fever? this album wont let you down.

M.O.T.O.‎-Live In Turku CASSETTE
2012-Blast Of Silence Records (BOS002)

Recorded near the start of Paul's 2011-2012 European tour. Live at Klubi (Ilta) in Turku, Finland on September 16, 2011 with a drummer who won't play Slade! Hand numbered edition of 144 copies. Rerun is the exclusive North American source for this release and we have the last copies available anywhere!
Blast of Silence says: Too much, too soon? Blast of Silences second treat hits the fan already while the ?No Way Street? LP is still steaming hot! M.O.T.O. ?Live in Turku? (BOS002) proves the magic of Paul Caporino in its full glory! Were you there that night? The Night M.O.T.O. hit Turku for the first time? Includes raw and uncompromising versions of the hits such as: ?I Hate My Fucking Job?, ?Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance To The Radio?, ?Metal Man?, ?Magic Words?, ?The Chicks Can Tell? and ?2-4-6-8 Rock?n Roll?.

M.O.T.O.-Battle of the Band - Greatest Hits 1988-2005 CD
2007-Aarght! Records (Australia)

The ultimate M.O.T.O. dance party disc! This one's just about busting the 80minute CD capacity! Thirty one, count 'em...thirty one big-time smash hits spanning almost two decades. Hand picked for your dining and dancing pleasure. Some for the first time on CD! This was released only in Australia and didn't get much North American distribution to begin with. We thought it had long sold out, but there was one last case of CDs stashed in Aarght!'s closet when we inquired. We have the final copies of this release, and it will not be reissued.

Thanks

Here's a somewhat random batch of 12" vinyl for sale. Most prices are firm, but I'm willing to discount for larger or multiple purchases on used stuff. After the used stock are lists of my label releases which can be added to any order with no additional postage.

I'm also willing to trade in some cases, though I don't have a want list at the moment. Open to offers of obscure/small press '70s-'80s Punk/Wave stuff for trade credit. Also looking for clean, complete copies of Dead Kennedys foreign pressings I need...which are quite a few. LPs...I need a few variations, the German promo 7", Stickered/censored UK Too Drunk 7", etc.

Sorry for the long list/format....

Thanks
Jason

New releases for Summer 2012 on Rerun! Two cassette classics available again!
M.O.T.O.-BOLT! LP
(2012-RERUN #014)
No matter who he's on stage or recording with at the moment, Paul Caporino alone has always been New Orleans based legends M.O.T.O., aka Masters of the Obvious. He formed the band in 1981, and has been playing an infectious blend of garage, '70s punk rock and Brill Building worthy pop ever since.

When the band didn't record or play as much as Paul would have liked those first few years, he turned to his 4-track. He put down all vocals, guitar and bass tracks over a toy, Mattel Synsonics drum machine. Initially, these recordings were only planned as demos of new songs, but Paul was so satisfied with the results, he decided to release them to the public. M.O.T.O. would go on to release more than fifteen cassette albums from 1985-1999. Each one filled with an abundance of dick jokes and social commentary alike. They were met with rave reviews from indie 'zines, which helped Paul build a rabid, worldwide fan base.

BOLT! was released as the second M.O.T.O. cassette. The tracks were recorded on Lent in 1986, and the final edit was "The Best of Lent Tapes" or simply BOLT! The lead off track "Dick About It" is a fan favorite and is still played regularly in live sets to this day. A vinyl pressing of BOLT! was released in Germany as a very limited vinyl pressing in the mid-'90s, but that's been tough to find since. When we decided to put BOLT! back in print 27 years after its original release, we had M.O.T.O.'s head producer Garret Hammond remaster the album from Paul's original master tapes for maximum (minimum?) lo-fi bliss! That's 20 songs in about 47minutes of classic M.O.T.O. pressed on thick black vinyl, in an edition of 500 copies.
Format: Vinyl LP   Catalog number: RERUN #014

M.O.T.O.-E Pluribus M.O.T.O. LP
19th Anniversary Edition!
(2012-RERUN #015)
Paul Caporino (as M.O.T.O.) released more than fifteen cassette albums from 1985-1999. Virtually all were fuzzy 4-track cassette recordings with Paul layering guitar, bass and vocals over a crude drum machine. The lyrics are filled with dick jokes, love themes and social commentary. The music is lo-fi, hook laden pop...well, except for fun, yet warped distractions like "Cancer In My Dick" and "Transformoto," like on this album.

E Pluribus M.O.T.O. was originally released in 1993, while Paul was living in Chicago. It was one of the first cassettes of what would be a very productive period for M.O.T.O. in the '90s. A slightly abbreviated version (due to time restrictions) was released as an obscenely small vinyl pressing by a German label in the mid '90s. Copies of that vinyl have been known to fetch over $100!

Rerun is pleased to bring you a special 19th Anniversary Edition reissue of E PLuribus M.O.T.O.! We've even been able to add a couple tracks the German vinyl from the '90s didn't have, and it's been remastered by M.O.T.O.'s head producer Garret Hammond from Paul's original master tapes for maximum fuzziness! Pressed on thick black vinyl, in an edition of 500 copies.

Music Shit / Dinosaurs - St. Louis living room Rock from late '70s
« on: April 03, 2012, 09:18:18 PM »
Some of you know/have the Dinosaurs sole 45 - "It Might Be Rose" b/w "Rock & Roll Moron" from 1979. They had also recorded some home demos/rehearsals and live gigs at the time. A label here in St. Louis called Bug Muddy is releasing the new album by Alley Ghost, which is the current band with the bass player of the Dinosaurs. I'm not sure if they are releasing it in a physical format or not, but they put up a free download of 13 Dinosaurs songs as an album. It's not Punk, it's uh, living room rock, like I put in the title...or whatever you wanna call it. The 45 tracks aren't here, but it sounds like someone did some work to the audio since what I have/heard is more raw than this. This stuff was all recorded '78-'79 I think.

Here's what they put on their Facebook page:
"We are really excited about the upcoming album from Bob Reuter's Alley Ghost and we would like to get you guys excited, too. In order to spread the joy, here are 13 tracks from the originators of STL DIY - our punk rock forefathers and rock & roll badmen the Dinosaurs, Bob's band from the 70s. You'll recognize some of these songs as classic Alley Ghost jams! 11 of these songs are straight forward rockers, one is a bizarre freak jam, and the final song is a really cool cut of Frankie, Bob's old guitar player, laying down some blue eyed soul (Bob has an amazing and moving story about this track...)

VOM-Live At Surf City 7"EP

VOM, short for vomit. Formed at the roots of L.A. Punk. Not really part of, but then again, sorta the kings of the scene for a brief moment in the late '70s...at least in our history books.

Fronted by revered writer and critic Richard Meltzer, with future Angry Samoans members Gregg Turner (2nd vocals) and "Metal" Mike Saunders on drums. The other half was made up of Dave Guzman on 'tuneless rhythm guitar', Lisa Brenneis ('Gurl') on bass and Phil Koehn on lead guitar. These six took 'obnoxious' to an entirely new level. They lasted about exactly as long as a real Punk band should. Ending after just enough time to conduct a handful of adventurous, ultra-messy live gigs and somebody suckered into putting up the dough to press a record.

VOM's Live at Surf City EP originally came out on White Noise Records in 1978 and has since been heralded as a bona-fide American Punk classic. They crammed as many minutes of noise that the 7" vinyl would allow. They managed to fit "I'm In Love With Your Mom", "Too Animalistic", "Electrocute Your Cock", "Punkmobile" and "God Save The Whales". Each one HIT!

Rerun is happy to bring you the first official reissue of this mind boggling document since it's initial release. We've re-mastered the audio from the original, rotting tapes master tapes, and it's never sounded better. They're all on thick, black vinyl, and each one comes with a double sided 7" x 14" insert featuring unpublished photos and new liner notes by Gregg Turner. All copies come in a heavyweight, glue pocket picture sleeve, but we're offering two cover choices. One is a reproduction of the original B&W art, and the other is a color version of the sleeve. The new color treatment is by Ronn Spencer, the original sleeve designer and label co-head of White Noise Records. Get 'em both!

-The Gruberger Brothers-Greetings From Reading, PA LP (RERUN #012)
A full LP of never-before-heard U.S. Punk and Fanzine Rock 1978-1980. From the same guys who brought you proto-punk legends O.Rex and '77 punk gawds the Afrika Korps. The Grubergers parted ways with the rest of the 'Korps and relocated to Reading, PA. In early 1978 they recorded but never managed to release an eight song, punk EP under the name Spike. We've collected that EP along with other, unreleased studio sessions for an LP that hints at what a second Afrika Korps LP could have sounded like if the Grubergers had stuck around. Mastered from the original tapes, and we even got Kenne Highland to give us his reaction to recordings! Pressed in an edition of 500 copies with full color cover and insert featuring liner notes.
$12.00 each

-The Retros-Inner City Rockers - The Retros 1979 LP+CD or CD (BDR #4)
The Retros were arguably the best Punk band in St. Louis during their brief existence between 1978-1981. A couple attempts at recordings were made, but the Retros produced no official releases during their lifespan. In the Spring of 1979, the band was the subject of a final exam for a friend?s studio recording class at Webster University. When the exam was finished, the Retros took advantage of the couple hours of leftover studio time. They ripped through twelve originals in a quick, live-in-the studio type set up. The block of studio time was completely exhausted with the recording, and they didn't even have time for playback. The reel ended up on a shelf in Soundman/Manager, Don Hollenbeck's closet, and it would be almost thirty years before these recordings were heard by ANYONE. The LP includes the entire twelve song session, and the CD adds four, bonus live tracks. The LP is limited to 300 copies in a silk screened cover with a full color insert featuring photos, gig posters and liner notes, and it also comes with a copy of the CD. The CD format comes in a standard jewel case and is limited to 200 copies with alternate art.
LP+CD package $12.00 each
CD format $8.00 each

-Dear John-Frustrated Conversation - 30th Anniversary Re-Release 7" (BDR #5)
Two '70s style Power Pop songs ala Raspberries or The Shoes, originally released in 1981 on their own label. The single has been a tough find for Power Pop collectors, easily fetching $40-60 on auction sites. We found out why it has been hard to locate, when Robert Kuhlmann of Dear John let us know he found half the vinyl from the original pressing in storage during a visit to his mom's house! They had only printed a small number of sleeves at the time, so we've repackaged the remaining, original vinyl copies in a new sleeve featuring liner notes, gig posters and other ephemera. This re-release is limited to the 350 copies on hand. The first 100 copies include a download coupon for the single plus two bonus tracks from the same recording session.
$6.00
