I just got the other copies I was expecting. I was able to get a few more than first thought, but half are reserved/sold already. I have 12 available as of right now. Same details as above.

This was a big dollar record at one point. I found a fairly beat one years back at a St. Vincent De Paul in Appleton. One guy who played on it and I think was the main guy either behind the studio or label was Duke Wright (sp?) who managed the top 40 radio station WIXX. Do you have anything else worthwhile on the Northland label?

I don't have too much obscure WI stuff anymore. I've had this for many years, and I just came across it again going through a pile of odd/over-sized 7"s. The Vibratones from Green Bay. Instro rock and sorta frat dance on the flip. Drums = Gary!

Can't think of any other Northland records offhand.

I'd picked up a number of things over the years just by being in the area and combing thrift/antique shops at $1 or less a crack, but recently I decided to amass more early WI rock records through whatever means. Picked up the White Caps for $30 (it was listed as 40 but I asked for a discount due to a good-sized batch). I know it never dipped below $100 for years, but it maybe is more common now for whatever reason, they pressed a good amount of copies. Vibratones I've heard, but haven't found for a good price. If there's a strong and deep area in the state it's instrumentals, WI kept churning out wild instros and rockabilly while crooners were the rage in the early 60s (it's often compared to the Pac N'West by foreigners). Unfortunately, I'm not big on instros. Kinda like the punk scene in Milwaukee, incredible if you love power pop, merely OK if not.

* Seltaeb ""You're The Only Girl For Me / "What Am I Gonna Do?" - Seltaeb is "Beatles" backwards. Considered one of the last true "period" garage records, recorded by some really young Beatles fans in Oshkosh, WI in 1971. "What Am I Gonna Do?" is a strong original that sounds like 1965. $20 mint copy. They morphed into "Jake" and put out a sought-after fuzz/psych LP "The Jake Album Dedication," also on Banana Records, in 1973: http://collectorsfrenzy.com/details/350123161603

* Grabbed mint-ish Ama-Dots "Cease is Increase" / "Hit Girls" 45 for $10 w/ no pic sleeve. Hoping to find a beat copy w/ sleeve at some point. An odd record for the time/place (1980, Milwaukee). Looking forward to the album issue.

Ama-Dots LP audio is finally done, art is 95% done. Just waiting on liner notes and a couple other minor details and then it's off to the plant. That will be released at the same time as other Milwaukee reissues...Lubricants 7", Ones 7" and Ones collection CD.

Wow, I had no idea Seltaeb had a 45! This guy (Rick) who worked on the stereo side at the Appleton Exclusive Company for years was in that band. He told me about 'em, but he never mentioned the record. He said they had a van that they put a ambulance style bug shield on it with Seltaeb spelled out on it, so people would see "BEATLES" in their rear view mirror, like you do with an ambulance.

Highlights from the last month or so. I picked up some long time needs for good prices (Deprogrammer, Leg. Disease, Realtors, Cheese, Devo German issue). Dils, Vertebrats and (not pictured) Nervous Eaters-Loretta clean originals were had for a good price from a friend who bought 'em when they were first released. The rest were good local finds for $3-5 each. Black Randy green vinyl orig I needed. TV Toy 7"s were oddly from two sources within a week of each other. The bottom left two are the two 7"s from the early '80s by The Badgerz. I traded for those.

* Johnny Edwards and the White Caps "Rock n Roll Saddles / Why'd You Leave Me?" - Found a cheap(er than usual) copy of what most call the first Wisconsin rock record (though tons of dudes already playing country and polka released records that were certainly at least part 'billy for several years prior). From Appleton. Saddles is the song that pops up everywhere, but the flip is better.

All 25 copies I had are gone, but it looks like I have another 12 or maybe as many as 16 copies...waiting on confirmation. That might be the end of them. I won't have them for about a week, but anyone who wants one should PM or email to reserve now. After I confirm you will get one, please pay within 2-3 days or it'll go off hold and to the next in line. Thanks!

All copies I have on hand are sold or reserved now. I'm seeing if I can get any more, and I should know in the next day or two. People who have them on hold, please pay in the next 2-3 days or I'll have to let them go to the next in line.

Oh yeah....if anyone has a copy of the E Pluribus M.O.T.O. LP on Teenage Kicks, I need it! Will pay or trade handsomely. Even if you have a copy and don't wanna let it go...I need clear, high res images of the front and back for the illustrated discography. Help me!

It is. Did MOTO used to live in CT? Early stuff is more weirdo geek pop and less buzz saw, so the stretch isn't as great. Maybe? Flaherty is killer! Saw him a couple years ago with Sunburned in Brattleboro and with Bill Nace and the Jooklo Duo in the Burnt Hills basement. Scorch AND tone.

No, M.O.T.O. was Boston-based during the time of the Tulpa releases. New Orleans to Boston to Chicago to Rhode Island (briefly) to New Orleans (sorta briefly or at least touring all the time) and Paul's now residing in Derry, NH with his new wife. They were booking a U.S. tour for Spring/Summer, but it looks like they might get to go overseas for tour first, then the states later this year.

We (Rerun Records) are releasing the Ampeg Stud and MOTOERECTUS cassettes on LP this Summer. We're working on the official M.O.T.O. fan club right now, which includes a seven song 7"EP of new 4-track recordings. Then we're trying to tackle Single File II, which will be a DBL LP and CD. Fan Club and Single File II will be co-releases with Blast of Silence in Finland...Svart might be somewhat involved, too...at least handling all the Euro distribution.

Speaking of the fan club....we're still looking for high res images of M.O.T.O. in any form. Just Paul, Paul and a drummer, full band, candid, posed, whatever. If you have any or know anybody who does...please PM or email Jason at RerunRecordsSTL.com  If we use your contribution, you'll get some type of free M.O.T.O. stuff, depending on what you supply. If we get one picture, we'll say thanks and give you credit, but if you have a handful of shots we can use, we'll give you a fan club kit or record or something.

As of this morning...I'm down to 6 copies that are not already reserved or paid for of the 25 I had. If you want one, you might want to make a decision before they're all gone. Reserve by PM or Jason at RerunRecordsSTL.com

I thought this might appeal to some folks here...I got in a pile of dead stock copies of this EP from 1982 by Rikki Rush. I haven't had time to rip it yet for audio samples, but I'll try to get to that in the next couple days.

My description from the store:

Rikki Rush-American Dream 7"EP
1982-Easy Action Records

Fontana, CA low rent Power Pop/Rock from 1982. Comes off like a rough-around-the-edges Bomp! and Cheap Trick fan record. Four song EP on red vinyl. "Pop Side" and "Rock Side". Nice double sided insert with several pics of Rikki and the gang.

These are original, dead stock copies. Although they are all generally in great condition, some covers have minor storage/rub wear. Vinyl may be a bit dusty but is unplayed.

Listed here:

Anyway, you can buy it at the store link below with other stuff, otherwise if you just want one of these, they're $20.00ppd in the U.S., $25.00ppd Canada and $32.00ppd anywhere else. If you order the new Max Load LP+CD+DVD I'll let you add one for $15!

Max Load - St. Louis area Punk/Art Punk from '79-/83 LP+CD+DVD on Rerun to toot my own horn. It's the Xrod b/w Magazine Sex 7" and 22 unreleased demos, plus a live in 1981 DVD.

http://www.rerunrecordsstl.com/Max_Load.html

Gave this multiple spins last night. Unreleased stuff is great and that DVD is great not just for the performance but as a document of 80s public access weirdness too - that hippie chick who hosted the show is a creep!

Glad you like it! The host was also a singer for a (mostly Sabbath tribute) metal band at the time. I haven't been able to locate their performance on the same show unfortunately.

All orders placed so far ship tomorrow morning.

I have a handful of test pressings available, too. #'d of 20 copies with alternate art, which is a wraparound 11x17 over a blank white cover. It's the vinyl in a cover only, no DVD or CD with these. They're $20 + postage or you can get 1 test and 1 standard edition for these postpaid prices: $34.00 US - $43.00 Canada and $55.00 rest of the world. Here's a digital image of the front cover art.
