Strange but true...

You good people of TB helped me keep my sanity the last few days with your usual ridiculous postings.

I put my cat to sleep last Thursday. He was an extremely lovable cat -never refused getting pets. Always wanting more attention, always talking, always loving and just about the sweetest thing ever. But he's been fighting cancer since the end of last year and his body finally gave in. I miss that little guy so much, it's fucking ridiculous.

I've been avoiding human contacts. I haven't left the house. I haven't been able to answer my phone either. But I've been coming to TB here and there and it made me chuckle here and there. BoJustin wanting to get peed on by girls and Claire Dactyl and DANGERTERRORHORROR jumping right on him, Mitch posting about Rantoul's 7" (finally!) and the great response to that thread, I see that the ridiculous Big Butt Appreciation thread is still going strong, Young Steve's never ending quest to Japan, Hugh Jass saying that he bowled twice a week for a whole year and only managed to average 110 (wtf?), seeing how SS stores his records, I see that Officer Brad X changed his handle again for the 100th time, teenagegurls answering these long-ass young Steve-esque takes and so on...

The hard drive and the power supply on my computer died yesterday. The thing is a total goner. So, I just bought a new desktop this morning with the money that was deposited into my bank account from the government. damn, that really came in handy!

Non-Music Shit / How long is too long to wait for a record?

It's been 8 days since they won the auction.  I sent an invoice right off the bat and a reminder two days ago.  Still nothing.  Should I report 'em or something?

So, as there are deadbeat bidders on ebay, there are also deadbeat sellers...

I paypal'd for a record from a band last year in July and never received the record. We had some email going back and forth and the guy was apologetic for the delay and all, but still no record after 9 months. I hear that it's a pretty good record, but I haven't heard it yet...

And then about 1 1/2 month ago, I paid for a couple of records to this distro and still no goods and the dude doesn't even write me back. The records were not anything that's hard to find.

What do you guys suggest I do at this point? Just forget about it?

On the "New Turntable" thread, Steve says "I also need to have all of the a-sides of my records facing the front of the jacket at all times".
 
Are you obsessive compulsive? I think I might be. I always have to put the left sock and left shoe on first. If I somehow put the right sock on first, I take it off and start over. All the bills in my wallet have to be facing me with the smallest bill facing me first.

So, what are your rules?

Will anyone here be in Japan from 4/1 to 4/14? Any good shows there?
I'm going to see Jackie & the Cedrics on 4/6 in Nagoya and deciding on the Havenot's show on 4/5 as well, but need more show info. I'll be in Tokyo mostly, so any show info in Tokyo or Kanagawa would be great. Thanks!
