Brutally honest documentary. I left the theater feeling pretty sad, but glad this film was made. Totally worth seeing.

Is Thunderroads with Fink?
Nerd question: When I was younger, Mike sent me a CD-R (I was talking about starting a label) of Japanese lo-fi garage stuff that never came out. If I remember correctly, the story was that the guy who was going to put it out didn't sleep for like 8 days straight and ended up killing himself. So it was unreleased.
Could be. The bands were real...really cool lo fi Japanese stuff. Still have it somewhere.
He had a lot of cool Crime stories...
Hahaha, sounds like a crazy story Mike made up

I finally got burned by a Discogs user. I bought (for an exorbitant price) a copy of the Sleater-Kinney box set that Sub Pop just released for my lady for Christmas. The user had a 99.8% approval rating and almost 1000 sales on Discogs. I bought, he marked the sale as "payment received" and sent me a thank you note... And then fell the FUCK off. Just vanished. Tracked down an email and phone number -- no answer to emails and the phone has been disconnected. Two weeks later, his account has been suspended and about 25 people have popped up leaving him bad feedback on orders not received from the same time period that I ordered. Luckily, I filed a claim with my bank and they've already reimbursed me.
Be careful out there folks. That should've been as reliable of a transaction as they come and I still got worked.
Maybe the guy died or something
Yeah, I thought about that. Unfortunately, it's likely that or something almost as awful is probably the case.
kinda funny, if you're playing vancouver on a friday or saturday, there is a pretty decent chance the show is gonna be done by 11pm. they wanna kick the bands and attendees the fuck OUT and get the DJ in there, as a DJ will bring in approx 4,000 times the people. weeknight shows, though, still go late. i personally love being finished playing and out of the bar by 11. i got shit to do, man.I keep wondering why early shows don't happen more often. I guess bars don't want it?Because there is only one of you old dudes in every town that will actually show up on time. Everyone else will still show up around eleven.
I love the early shows. We've got a few venues where I know the show will be done by 11 or 12 tops.
4-5 band shows on a weeknight is lame. If the band I want to see is headlining, I know they won't get on stage until 1, and will likely cut their set short, because band number 3 decided to play for 90 minutes. Clubs that enforce set times rule.
The aging rocker society, needs bands to understand that the longer you fuck around, the less likely I am to stick around to see your set.
inside look like this…a tiny bit more info than Wired Up,,,
I'm almost 50, so I can't even imagine how boring I will be by 60.
