This might already have been mentioned but I think the book's great. It's not so much of a "punk book" but rather a compilation of flyers and some photos from 77 to 85.

i think the warriors will take one game but unless the mavs fall apart, it is their series to lose. avery's brain freeze last year will probably prevent them from fucking it up. however the Mavs might be like the Kings of the late 90s/early 00s, always close but never there.

anyway, i am glad the warriors got to the post season. nelly is a great coach and they have some nice young players. expect them to be here next year too.

yeah being a long time fan, I've learned to be just happy if they can win 1 game and avoid a sweep...

I hope Baron plays well so we can ship him off for some good player/s. I love the way he drives to the lane and love to see a powerful PG grabbing rebounds, but you just can't build a team around someone who plays 50 games a season. Grrr...it's really too bad.

Congrats to all the Warriors fans on here. This could be one of the more interesting 1-8 series in a while.

YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW FUCKING HAPPY I AM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I even went to the Arena last night to watch the game on the jumbotron with a couple of thousands fellow idiot fans.

I know, we own them but the post season is always a different thing. Way back when I would've never thought the little AJ would be playing against Nellie as a coach in the post season...

Perhaps you could get this trashed copy for the min bid:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230118835141

For a clean, cheap one wait for the reissue (or was it a boot?)

OMG, that is trashed alright...
yeah, I saw a clean copy listed about 6 months ago for about 12 bucks but forgot to bid on it. Subterranean reissued it a while back but I guess that went real quick.

I believe Bomp has reissue copies, not sure if it's the same one,I did see a Sleepers 7" listed last time I looked several months ago.

oh wow, really? Thanks, I should look into that...

Man, I haven't listened to the Sleepers in a long time. Got that retrospective CD (I think it came out on vinyl, too) that Tim Kerr Records put out back in the 90's. Might have to pull it out and listen. Wish I had some of that stuff on vinyl. Interesting stuff...

I'm kinda out of it, like Ricky Williams on ludes or whatever drugs he was on...

That CD has the funniest cover (so 1985). I gotta admit, Ricky's voice is just too damn annoying on some of the tracks...hard to listen to. I read somewhere that he just came out of the mental institution right before he started playing with Crime. Anyway yeah, they did play some interesting stuff. That era in San Francisco was such the home of strange music like Tuxedomoon (yup, another Michael Belfer thing), Minimal Man, Chrome, Residents, Club Foot Orchestra, MX-80, Flipper...I almost want to throw in Pere Ubu too as an honorary SF band. haha

drive another 2 hours north and see zz top at konocti.  that's what i'm doin!

heavy hitters!?  i heard barry bonds can't make it.
Heavy hitter of booze! I was referring to you my friend. Just make sure that your Camaro can make the drive home in time for the fiesta.

...and don't get too drunk and forget to fill up the tank before you leave Konocti. That camaro will be guzzlin gas and I'd hate to see cha cha trying to get some free gas from a passer-by.

Music Shit / Re: Foreign Punk Bands
« on: April 17, 2007, 11:41:12 PM »
Off the top of my head:

Los Saicos
Los Shains
Every 60's beat song I've heard from France and Turkey
Every Japanese Group Sounds and Tokyo Rockers band
Carol
The Badge

Lots of current Japanese bands too like
Guitar Wolf
Scum City
The Nou
and Firestarter is now writing songs in Japanese.

I'm sure there are lots more I'm omitting from other countries, but Japan is primarily what I know. Whether or not I prefer a band to sing in their native language or English goes on a case by case basis for me. Most times I'm in favor of the native language though.

CAROL!!!!!

Don't forget Stalin.

I have leftover everett and jones chicken along with squash and curried carrots I made last night, but I was supposed to go out to lunch with a group today and failed to bring anything

Then the lunch got cancelled because we had to meet re: the Va Tech gunman

can a dick ticket be issued to a dead man? he ruined my lunch.

I had a pastrami sandwich for lunch. It sucked. I will never have another awesome pastrami sandwich until I return to NEW YORK. I don't know why I even tortured myself that way.

At least you had a sandwich...I actually just ate a cup noodles and I'm real pissed.

if by "shrimp" they mean "sea monkeys."

well, if they are sea monkeys, they put the dead ones in cuz when you put water in the cup noodles, 'em sea monkeys don't start swimming in the cup...oh, wait, I guess you kill them by putting boiling water in the cup...hrmm.

I wish Chris Woodhouse was still doing stuff...

There is a band right now with Woodhouse and an ex-Sexy Prison and a Sore/Standard Tribesman and some other dude on bass.

It's still unnamed and far of from playing shows yet. I'll tell you more when I learn more, but that's all I know aside from their practice schedule basically.

Keep your fingers crossed.

will surely do!
