"Mushi" lp by Stalin. Monday morning at work is sucking pretty bad but this is helping.

I'm surprised that not many bands cover Stalin. Such great stuff. I did see the Feelers cover them last year and that was pretty darn good.

Fuck, this is the PERFECT Stalin record. Dirgey and noisey as can get! Totally good, totally backed. Absolutely perfect record.

And I had no clue the Feelers covered the Stalin! What song?

Yeah, I agree. A lot of people like the Stop Jap album the best, but Mushi is definitely my favorite. Suigin is such a master piece. It blew my mind when it came out. (and it was on a picture disc...heh)

I'm not 100% sure, but I think it was Romantist that the Feelers covered.

Big ups to the Feelers! Geezus, that blows my mind!

yeah, I can't wait til the Feelers come back out to San Francisco. The last time they were here I got a CD that has a bunch of the demos for Learn to Hate the Feelers album and that CD got a much heavier rotation on my stereo than the actual album. Great stuff.

how many records Stalin did? i have an LP, i think it´s called "trash"

There are about a million Stalin records.  "Trash" is the first LP, bootlegged a lot but the legit originals are worth a fortune, despite the fact that it's a fairly weak LP.  "Mushi" and "Stop Jap" came next and are excellent LPs, and the follwing "Stalin-A-Go-Go" 12" is decent too.  Otherwise, be careful.

Nine Shocks Terror did a quality cover of "Romanticist".

...speaking of being careful, if you ever come across Vietnam Legend by Stalin (it only came out on a cassette with a booklet in 84), don't pay too much. It has a bunch of cover songs like, Hello I Love You by the Doors and a song by the Carnabeats (Japanese GS group) and it basically isn't what you expect from them.

I thought I was "against" it but now that Chris O's stache is gone, he doesn't look like a "dad" anymore and I kinda miss it...

Does any of you have the Sleepers "Seventh World" 7" up for sale at a reasonable price? Reissue's fine. Thanks

i kinda wanna go back for another bbq sandwich today

I had some ribs at KC's BBQ on San Pablo after work yesterday (thanks to you, I got BBQ stuck in my mind all afternoon). It was really good meat, but if I go back there, I'll definitely order the sauce on the side. Too sweet and yucky.

I second that. No potato salad either. (or potatos + sugar)

...and no potato chips and sugar sandwich with wonder bread.

Here are some videos of Carbonas at Magnetic Field in Brooklyn. They played a day show during the Radio Heartbeat fest.

I took these videos on my camera so the picture quality isn't great but at least it sounds OK.
