god damn it the man was on stilts- stilts! How you gonna jump around like a rock god beast on giant stilts?

In other news, I liked the new Jon Dwyer thing, but he really needs a larger t-shirt- yuk

did the Hank IV make you feel young?

SSR- what's your take on that ex-Kings Bros dude playing on stilts? Is that a new thing, or is there a long tradition of Japanese noisemakers playing shirtless and on stilts?

i'd actually say Murphy is  overachieving and Dunleavy was the GWH who has fallen kersplat- Murphy is doing far better than anybody thought he would, and Dunleavy has been a near-total bust who just got a ridiculously huge contract for sucking hard. Why? Is he Mullinesque and Chris sees a little bit of himself out there, albeit a sucky version. I'm very confused

thanks for your take, SS- the grumblings about Baron's less-than-stellar year are starting to come out, but no one really wants to say them out loud. He gave desperate Warrior fans so much hope last year that nobody dares say that maybe the last third of the season was a pressureless fluke.

My God, even the Kings have passed us by. The Kings! eheheh

or are natural assholes predisposed toward shooting drugs up their ass in tiny stalls in the presence of large, beefy men? Nature or nurture, nurture or nature. Bonds was a very skinny asshole too, so...

sometimes it's hard to tell the real cops from the black leather boys in cop gear when i'm cruising down the, er, shopping in the, well, passing thru the Castro on my way to Noe Valley to buy shoes. They all wear bushy mustaches.

it's also just become a way for managers to protect themselves from criticism- "Well, I played the percentages by bringing in the leftie (despite his bloated ERA) and the odds just weren't in our favor this time." Look what happened to Grady Little when he stuck with Pedro. They ran his ass out of town.

Speaking of the attention span-impaired, let's get rid of cable car racing and individual player songs as they approach the plate. They are both ridiculous.

four homers in four games with the near-equivalent of a middle finger extended at 50,000 rabid Cards' fans. Classy? no. Hilarious? Guess it depends on where you're sitting. He was just a mean guy. He showed up at spring training one year with a bat that read "Fuck You' on the back for the umpire's perusal. He hated Will Clark, which ought to count for something. He was the Hack Man because he hacked at slop nightly, and  he wasn't a great player. He was memorable, however, whether those are pleasant memories or not.
