Music Shit / Re: The "Why isn't this reissued on vinyl thread?" Part 2

I asked the guitarist of the Stains why the record hasn't been re-issued a couple of years ago and he told me that Ginn claimed he couldn't find the master tapes.

I'm amazed no one has gone after SST for royalties. Henry Rollins has mentioned multiple times on his radio show that he's never received a dime from Ginn and I'm sure he has a lawyer.

Isn't the Stains album happening? Are people actually afraid of Greg Ginn coming after them?

I think Frontier records is doing the Stains re-issue. Apparently Ginn isn't cooperating though.

Yeah, just a straight reissue. The band says no other recordings exist that they no of. They definitely didn't record any demos.

Music Shit / Re: NYC public access TV 1976
« on: January 19, 2012, 08:04:31 AM »
I found this mention in a Jane Scott column from 1976:

On April 23, 1976 (1976-04-23 p 26) there are some comments by Jane Scott on the second single and adds this at the end:  "Pere Ubu was interviewed by Punk and New York Rocker magazines last week and did a syndicated TV show."

Any clues as to what the TV show may have been?  I'm guessing some public access TV show airing in NYC, any clues as to what that may have been?  David Thomas has no recollection of it...

It sounds like it may have been Pat Iver's and Emily Armstrong's NY cable show Nightclubbing. Here's their site: http://www.gonightclubbing.com/

They did a screening a few years ago here in LA and they had some incredible footage. They started filming bands in '75.

I have copies of this that I've been giving away to mail order customers who buy two or more records. I also have the King Khan one too.

OK, did it. I have my fingers crossed, but totally understand that it isn't a given...Regardless, it's very cool that you are actually giving promotional vinyl away.

If you're Sara you got one!

Might as well do the only good Scientists material if you're going to go and reissue them.

They already have. They did Blood Red River and Human Jukebox, didn't they?
