i think it's just you todd. the problem is you. you might... suck at discogs?

Me, and all the lifetime music fans on this thread who also "suck at discogs?" Maybe your standards are too low, and you just take it in the keester because it's easier than trying to find the best? Maybe you're unable to see the flaws which are apparent to (most of) the rest of us? I don't know, but I could list dozens of recent attempts at filling in discographies which were missing/inaccurate and further cite the sources where I ended up getting the answers I guess? Do you actually need this hard evidence, or can you take my word for it? Because if it's important to you, I will go back and cite everything, but then I expect you to come here and admit that I was right. And you're buying me a beer tonight.

AYL08, you've learned nothing over the years because you're dumb as shit and you're horrible at everything. Make a positive addition for once in your pathetic life and kill yourself already.

i expect this report on my desk by 5pm or you're FIRED.

^ Yeah, that one's great. There's a little story behind them up somewhere, tracked it down when I saw the pic on Facebook or whatever.

So it's apparently a good site for sellers. It hasn't been good for me as a consumer. I wondered what the attraction was.

i haven't tried selling anything on discogs, but i've found the opposite of what you say here to be true. in my experience, eBay is (still) best for selling and discogs is best for buying. if i'm selling something i always compare what it's been selling for on eBay and discogs, and basically it boils down to, people with more money than sense do not seem to know about discogs yet, or don't care, whereas discogs is where people are fighting each other to have the lowest list price in hopes of selling their shit first. I have friends who swear by discogs for selling, but honestly i think they're only saying that because it's easy as shit to list stuff... and then i check their listings and their records haven't moved for months. but when i can actually get my shit together to put in the time & effort to list stuff on ebay, stuff consistently sells for higher prices than what is currently available at discogs. to me there's no question. i've sold stuff on ebay for X amount on ebay when there's 5 copies of the same record sitting for less at discogs. and for buying, i've found some shit dirt cheap on discogs! it's pretty easy to spot a very conservative grader, who will list something for bottom dollar, slap a "VG" on it and no one will touch it. then it shows up in the mail and it's in better condition than the guy who has the same record listed as a VG+ for twice the money. anyway that's how i do it. no one's been able to convince me successfully that there is any reason to switch from ebay to discogs for selling, outside of the ease of listing. i'm all ears though.
