Non-Music Shit / Re: taking up skating in late 30s

Out here in Arizona,  the land of empty pools and endless concrete
and no rain...
I see seriously old dudes skating fairly often.
I still have my 1978 G+S with OG trucks and dirty Kryptonites

There was one in CT for the Tune Inn in New Haven for about 5 years.

Fernando did them and they were mostly incoherent.

That nug looks like good outdoor grown to me...which if available I always pick.

It's usually less strong but tastes better then the lab weed and doesn't have all the grow chemicals.

Oh it still exists for sure....it can be grown anywhere.

There will always be a market for cheap shit.

Mass production however is quickly coming to an end in Mexico at least..a major source
for that kind of weed.

"Schwag" in my definition is usually outdoor harvested Mexican cartel brick weed. The kind you
know someone somewhere was hurt or killed bringing it across (usually thru less defined parts of
the AZ/NM border via backpack or catapult over the fence). Occasionally there's a truck loaded up
but there's no money in it anymore and cartels have switched to meth production.

"Schwag'  commonly has pesticides that have been restricted or banned in the U.S.

Smoke up beardos!

I'm a MMJ card holder and have a few types around for various things (pain, insomnia, fatigue).
We call "schwag" other things out here..."Blood Weed" is pretty common and named as such for obvious reasons...

the future looks bright ahead, cassette

This was HUGE for a lot of teens on the left coast...totally crucial sampler that had
unusually good distro as I bought mine in 1982 in Yuma, AZ.

I bet this tape spawned many a record collection

Another gateway tape was the "Decline..." soundtrack

Bridgeport!

As a former home owner in that city I had a lovely ringside seat to it's Barnum-like charms.

ahem....

Anyways after living in South Norwalk and New Haven (briefly), me and the wife bought a place
and well....loved it.
It being in yet another failed rusting factory town was never an issue. That would be most of CT not named Fairfield County
Crime?! Yep. Crap roads and brutally high taxes? Yep.
Good food, nice people and very close proximity to Boston and NYC? Yup. If the weather
wasn't  consistently horrible in the winter we'd have stuck around longer...heating oil bills are
stupid large.

I'm still amused.

Especially at the people irritated that their reverent dull as fucking dishwater thread slid into
a dissertation on heavens To Betsy.

More thread takeovers please.

Noobs get on it!

I'm about to turn 50 and could care less about it. I don't look it or feel it so its arbitrary
altho sadly I'm hearing so many echoes of shit I caught the first time around in some
"new" bands that it's a little depressing to think about.

That said I'm fully open to having my noggin popped by a  new combo.

Saw Husker Du in New Haven in 1985...I'm not gonna lie that was an EPIC summer for touring bands
if you were clued in.

I got to see Huskers, Replacements, Minutemen, Descendents, Motorhead, Slayer and Dead Kennedys all within
a three month period. Throw in two Ramones shows and Boom epic microdot mayhem summer.

Geography played such a massive part in that it's not even funny.

Tri-state area was BOOMIN
