Toronto knows how to PARTY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Justin, if the Toronto show needs to be saved drop me an email.  I will have a sick venue and some good opening bands in less than 24-hours.  Border paperwork, too.

I'll attest to that!

Got 2 new releases done and done

the first is the WHITE WIRES LP
Finally, I got my squeegee going hi-speed!
This trashy little ditty bird is flying high on glue, whistling a sweet little tune, and crashing clumsilly into clean windows.  Totally inspired by bands like the ROMANCE NOVELS, the NERVES, NOBUNNY, the BARRACUDAS, the OKMONIKS, the BOYFRIENDS, the BLACK LIPS, KK&BBQ, EDDIE COCHRAN, the REVILLOS, the BUREAUCRATS, the GOGOs, the NAMEDROPS, and the NOMORES.
limited to 325 copies

the second is the SUPPOSITORIES LP
Another OTTAWA band!  These guys and gal have turned out one of the best things ever to come out of this town!  One chord songs, violent vocals, square beats, barbed hooks.......stick THIS up.
Think BRAINBOMBS, FLIPPER, CHROME, KBD stuff, ANGRY SAMOANS.
limited to 300 copies

Didn't think I'd see the day when punkers cared about FONT. Nerds.

I never saw the Busy Signals record. Even if I had, I still woulda used it 'cos it looks good!
Get some taste.

aw man, you'd call me way more than a nerd if you actually knew how much I like fonts.

as for taste, I'm forever lost,
but I really did like your release 1+2, and looking forward to this one and the POPPETS!

New Releases For Sale/Distro Updates / GOING GAGA RECORDS

narcissism lead me to this...

I started up my own little label, because nobody else is gonna put out my records
so here you have it...GOING GAGA RECORDS

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

OUT NOW

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

number 1
SEDATIVES - CANNOT CALM DOWN 7"

Straight ahead punk rock stuff, with an organ.  Stays in the shadows of the minor keys.  Kinda dark sounding, along the lines of the VICIOUS, the OBSERVERS, LORDS OF THE NEW CHURCH, KBD stuff.  It's a 5 song EP, and there's a few of the 300 copies left.  Also getting pressed in the fall on PTRASH.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

COMING SOON

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

number 2
the WHITE WIRES - GIRLY GIRLY GIRLY LP

Fun and dumb songs.  I was told it sounds like EDDIE COCHRAN meets the BEACH BOYS.  Up to garagey punk rock beat and powerpop stuff like the BARRACUDAS, CRAWDADDY'S, PAUL COLLINS...impressed by the ROMANCE NOVELS, the SNEAKY PINkS, the BARBARAS, the POPPETS, and more names to be dropped on request.  This one's also gonna be 300 copies, and should be ready by the end of AUGUST.
www.myspace.com/theewhitewires

number 3
the SUICIDE WRISTS - YOU ANNOY ME 7"

It's backalley surgery.  Trashy, frantic, and blown-out all done while hitting the right notes.    It's a post-haste record.  Should have been pressed a year ago, but then we all moved far away.  Think VOM, the WEIRDOS, RANDOMS, etc.  This one's probably gonna be 75 copies.  Coming in the fall.

number 4
the TOILETTES - TOILETTE TALK 7"
Drum machine, and a 6 inch guitar amp from the garbage.  Maybe inspired by the WAX MUSEUMS, the POPPETS, the SNEAKY PINKS, HUBBLE BUBBLE.  Probably do lathe cuts...maybe 50 copies???unless there's any interest to make more.

Ian, come the night before.  Trust me.

yeah, I'd love to...I read about the birthday party...sounds so good...see the same bands in a basement at 3am...shit

I can't get out of my job on the 25th...there's no way...which sucks, but I'll definitely be at the show on the 25th, and I can't wait for that one!!!

and MATT
send me info about any bands you want to bring to OTTAWA
this place is like an island full of ROBINSON CRUSOES dying to go out and party with some people

163
me and my girlfriend are coming from Ottawa for the SWEET SIXTEENS, FIRST BASE show!!!  I'm really excited about that one!!!

I'd also like to come for the VIVIAN GIRLS and CRYSTAL STILTS...and HUMAN EYE!!!

hey TORONTO...send your friends to OTTAWA when they're on the road
I'll book 'em a FRIDAY night, at a fun basement party, free pizza, place to crash...decadence!!!
164
I gotta get one of these too...how can I pre-order a copy to Canada?
165
not to be a dick or anything, but that band Statues kind of blows.  It reminded me of mid period Husker Du crossed with math rock or emo, like The Modern Machines or some bullshit like that.  I've heard people mention "power pop" in describing their sound and I've never bothered to listen to the records, but live I thought they were boring and kind of sucky.  Do any Termbos actually like this band?

I don't think that's being a dick...that's speaking your mind...quite different.

I saw them play in Ottawa a few months back and picked up one of the LP's, there's some songs I really liked on it...like that LIVING IN LINES song!
There's definitely a lot of 90's influence on the STATUES, without question.  I don't know what mid period HUSKER DU sounds like, because I never cared much for that band.  Also, I don't understand the powerpop references, I don't hear it, and I think it's erroneous.

Anyways, the dudes in the band I play in SEDATIVES www.myspace.com/sedativesedatives all love the STATUES.  They're also good friends too I think...anyways, somebody came up with the idea of doing a weekend trip to TORONTO...but I'm not gonna bother wasting the gas/time/money if nobody likes that band...because so far, nobody likes my band in TORONTO either...we've never played there, but haven't been offered any shows either.

when you saw them play, did people show up?
did anybody dig it?
I want to know these things.
