Non-Music Shit / Re: Dune

I've only read the first three Foundation books (including the Prelude he wrote a long time afterwards). I've read all of the Robot series and some of the Galactic Empire ones. Definitely a big Asimov fan.

It's been a long time, but the way I remember it the first book was good (if a bit over-long) and the next one sucked, so that's as far as I got.

I really like the second Dune book. My favorite besides the first one is God Emperor; it's one of the most insane things I've ever read, and I love it.

My favorite series of books ever. Anyone else gotten through all of them? Was Frank Herbert totally out of his head on mushrooms, or was he just one of those people who is naturally tripping? What do ya'll think about the Lynch version? How much are you dreading the upcoming remake?

I felt the whole "not as good as last season" thing at first, but the first season kind of built up too. I think by the end this one will deliver just as much, if not moreso.

What are good shoes to go with tight-ish (not "skinny") jeans for a man?  Converse are the go-to, but I'm kind of bored with them.  I like the comfort of New Balance type shoes but feel like I look like I'm wearing cinder blocks because of their relative bulk.

Would love sneaker suggestions; I'm not interested in boots.

Onitsuka Tiger! My favorite shoes. Look cool, come in a huge variety of colors, and feel great. Not really that much more expensive than buying a pair of Vans or Chuck Taylors these days, and you actually get a quality shoe!

Who cares about you.

They end it on a high.
No bad records.
No bad shows.
No regrets.

It is an example that should be followed.

Whooaaaa harshin'. Can you really blame me for wanting a great band to stay going in the veritable shitstorm of bad bands that exist right now? It's not just about me, it's about the WORLD, man.

That's no reason to end a band! The world's too short on great bands for this to be over!!

There's a great little family-owned burger place right off the highway in Denton called Frosty's. I've never had the burgers but I hear they're great, and (most importantly) they make their own root beer which is probably the best I've ever had.
