Music Shit / Re: Hardcore 2019
« on: February 19, 2019, 06:35:13 PM »
Man Eaters is mad stupid.  Maybe I'm biased cuz I know who is in it but idk man, there is definitely better stuff than the new chicago punk n roll band that only started cuz these dumbasses got rejected from DIY for various reasons so now they can at least play to 21+ bro punks at reggies or chop shop or whatever.

You're def biased b/c this shit rips as do all their other bands.  8)

New Releases For Sale/Distro Updates / Color TV "S/T" LP on Deranged
« on: November 12, 2018, 01:07:34 PM »

"After concocting a batch of 7-inch singles that leaked from various Twin Cities basements, here is the debut LP from Color TV?speedy punk rock that slaps with tight bursts of melody and quirk, filled with the sardonic musings of living in the sci-fi dystopian hellscape that is the now. Heavily influenced by early UK punk and USHC with subtle underpinnings of bands like Sparks and Ultravox, this is punk music clearly made by lifers obsessed with the underground counter-culture. Come, children, time to gather around and drink the electric Kool-Aid of C-TV."

New Releases For Sale/Distro Updates / Color TV EP
« on: August 12, 2016, 11:01:37 AM »

New 7" EP out this fall on Deranged Records with Midwest tour (Omaha, Iowa City, Chicago, Minneapolis) to follow.

Pre-order: http://www.derangedrecords.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=800

"Hailing from the Twin Cities, C-TV is new band featuring some of the folks who brought you The Retainers, W.H. Walker, and Cheap Time, among others. They play dynamic, hook-laden punk rock that is tight and to the point, with raw production that harkens back to the sounds of yesteryear. You can hear a range of influences that can be traced to the KBD bands, Good Vibrations label, assorted Oz punk, the Red Snerts: Sound of Gulcher comp, and an undeniable early Minneapolis sound via Suicide Commandos. Music that is short and sweet with a black eye."

"Terry Katzman approved!"

Music Shit / Re: Husker du you reckon?
« on: October 20, 2015, 11:23:02 AM »
There will be no reunion. They are on good terms and trying to get a handle of 30+ years of a neglected catalog. The media certainly has played up the whole "feud" thing.

That said, Grant Hart's last two records were fantastic and flew under the radar of most people.

Some of D4 members seriously wanted to beat up some of my weakling buddies once because they got drunk and drew swastikas on their hands.

This was a roadie and Billy. I don't care to defend anyone here but there are two sides to every story. Regardless it seemed pretty minor from what I was told. Maybe a big deal for some 19 y/o?

Grant Hart lives near me and is, in my opinion, a total dick.

Eccentric sure. Asshole? Anything but.

Changing speed, heres Grant's guitar that William Burroughs did collage work on:

Helta Skelta from Perth, Australia will be on winter tour for their Beyond the Black Stump LP coming out this fall on Deranged Records. The band is members of Prag and Extortion playing a blend of classic Aussie proto-punk, post-punk, and early hc. If you can help with any of these dates, please be in touch either through here or rockbottomwrex(at)gmail.com.

Song from the upcoming record.
