Getting too into Strava for my own good.......
Record wet British winter has meant too little riding - beergut has expanded, fitness has decreased.
Spring's looking dry - can't wait - 1st 100+ miler is planned and awaiting a clear weekend. Flapjacks and peanut butter sandwiches to the fore.........
yeah, I was avoiding that Strava thing for the longest time. no interest in competing with anybody and all that jazz. a friend of mine insisted I start using it and now became a convert. not for comparing myself to others or KOM's ect... but for tracking my own progress, this is pretty neat. I like the updates they recently did to the site too.
the Northeast winter has been brutal as well. should be breaking soon, even though it was around 34F on my ride yesterday. in an effort to not lose the gains I made last year (weight/strength), I've been hitting the trainer hard these past few months. that plus some rides when it was not too brutal, maintained my weight and at this point I think I am a stronger rider than this past fall.
the 100 miler shouldn't be a problem. if you can do 50 or 60, than it is just mental. nutrition and hydration as well.
