Music Shit / Re: the latest MISSISSIPPI Records saga
« on: October 02, 2009, 08:42:13 AM »
now they've reappeared with a new Gospel comp. Somehow the MS dude ended up with a Memphis Gospel 78 mix CD that had been making the rounds among friends, and decided to press up a record.

Mississippi basically comes along after all the hard work is done, puts their stamp on it with no recognition of the work that was done.

It's crazy to me that they have the gall to put their stamp on it. An anonymous bootleg is one thing, but they want everybody to think it's their shit. They didn't do anything except press a record, and they take all the credit for it.

Honestly, if taking credit wasn't important to MS Recs, why the hell would they attach their name to a bootleg? "Ooh, we're hipster tastemakers, people are paying $50 for our releases like 2 weeks after they come out. Let's do another one!"

dude, you're so full of shit it ain't even funny.  a fucking gossip queen.  the mississippi dude ended up with a gospel 78 mix cdr and decided to press up a record?  really?  you stated it as fact but what are you gonna say when you realize that's 100% bullshit?  doesn't 'big legal mess' own the rights to the designer catalog?  and didn't mississippi and blm just co-release that cecil barfield record? and now you want folks to believe ms stole some blm dj's mix cd-r, pressed up some records, and slapped their name on it?  i mean, why not, right?  just give blm a big f-u right after co-releasing a record together. dude, cracker, where the hell did you get your facts?  the grapevine?

Mississippi basically comes along after all the hard work is done, puts their stamp on it with no recognition of the work that was done. That is total deplorable BS. No different than any of the garbage websites/blogs that steal content and pretend it's theirs.

It's crazy to me that they have the gall to put their stamp on it. An anonymous bootleg is one thing, but they want everybody to think it's their shit. They didn't do anything except press a record, and they take all the credit for it. At some point this is going to come back and bite them in the ass. Being a "cool dude" can only go so far. WEAK

what's the name of this compilation?

Music Shit / Re: Loner Folk?

Canonical,

Will your Bob Desper reissue be on vinyl?

If so, many thanks are in order.
I'm not reissuing Bob Desper. For some reason the image I linked didn't show up. I'm reissuing Ian Tamblyn's demo "Moosetracks."

Bob Desper is good, but not mind blowing. I think it's a good singer songwriter LP with loner lyrics but without a loner atmosphere. The writing is quite strong.

That Bob Desper record is pretty devastating if you ask me, and I hear loner vibes all over the place.  It was bootlegged on vinyl here recently but a legit one is being done by Discourage Records that will also include his 7? tracks.

New Releases For Sale/Distro Updates / Re: Bachs - reissue
« on: November 10, 2008, 08:39:27 AM »
Quote from: The Acid Archives
The Del-Val reissue and the subsequent bootlegs of it are all mastered 1.5%-2.0% too slow. The legit Gear Fab reissue is the correct speed but has clearly inferior sound and digital skips. You need to hear an original (or a CD-R thereof) to understand the full magnitude of the Bachs experience.

does anyone know if the void reissue resolved these problems?
