Anyone who used the word "acid" in any music review is an idiot

patrick the lama would disagree.

How annoying are the clicks and pops? Is it really distracting?

Yeah. It's the worst surface noise I've ever had on a new record, and worse than most of the used stuff I've picked up. Some of the clicks and pops are just loud as fuck.

Edit to mention that it's the B-side Im talking about. A-side is not nearly as bad.

got my copy at the show in nyc the other night and it's exactly like what you're describing.   b side has pops that sound like firecrackers, and there's a couple spots where it skips badly.  sucks

it's worth buying twice though, so i'll be looking out for the repress.

I'm sure Bobb Trimble's already been mentioned.  I'd also highly recommend Virgin Insanity (both albums), Dave Bixby "Ode to Quetzalcoatl" (reissue coming later this year/early 09?), Bob Desper "New Sounds", the Grudzien reissue (naturally) and even Perry Leopold's "Experiment in Metaphysics"

Pink Reason (featuring TV Ghost & Psychedelic Horseshit) - Freebird live at the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit

yea, that's great indeed.  then i saw this terribly upsetting news:
Quote from: pink reason
Pink Reason: DEAD!  Pink Reason is over. Not the first time, but likely the last.

oh well, best of luck.  looking forward to the next/last.

np:
leland - this is my world lp
wooden wand w/ sky high band - second attention lp

i have them both.  the cherry blossoms lp is still one of the best things (of its ilk) i've heard all year.  the untitled cd-r with josephine foster is pretty damn good too.  just not quite as great as skulls of heaven would have you believe.
