Non-Music Shit / Paypal cancelled payment question
« on: May 05, 2010, 08:45:36 AM »
Paypal masters, maybe you know the answer to this. In an ordering frenzy I misspelled the email address I was sending a payment to. I realized this, cancelled the transaction 5 minutes later (it hadn't been claimed so I'm confident that the misspelled address wasn't also a paypal acct), and re-paid to the right address. My paypal acct says the mistaken payment has been sucessfully cancelled but my bank has now completed 2 transactions for $21.50.

Does paypal hold on to the money for a while to make sure it's a legit cancellation & then refund the cash to your bank acct?

I emailed paypal & haven't heard back yet. Maybe you have some instant gratification for me?

Don't know much about this band aside from the fact that I've ignored them in the past based on the name - but someone whose taste I trust was heartily recommending this record to me. I eagerly await your PM.

Maybe a long shot since it's a folk record but TB has helped me out before. Neo-trad British folk record by Meg Baird, Sharon Krauss & Helena Aspvall. Came out in 2006 on Bo Weavil. I figured an LP of this would still be kicking around the mailorders but a search of Aquarius, FE, Tonevendor, Fusetron, Norman & Time Lag have all come up fruitless. Maybe you have one? Or know where one is? Help a dude out.

Music Shit / Hey psych/pop dudes: Sebastian - Rays of the Sun?
« on: February 12, 2010, 10:54:46 AM »
I was just looking through the Dusty Groove catalogue & saw this 60's reissue listed. Can anyone particularly recommend this? Dusty Groove - as usual - is gushing about it but I've been burned by their boundless enthusiasm before. I've been listening to the Shaun Harris solo record from 1973 a TON & I'm looking for more stuff somewhat along those lines. Help me out!

Music Shit / Axemen live
« on: October 27, 2009, 10:48:24 PM »
OK, totally buzzed here but I just walked in the door from seeing the Axemen & wanted to say that if you're on the fence about seeing them, DO IT! They completely drove home the fact that what's truly great about NZ/Flying Nun bands is their complete unpredictability. It's catchy but so much more than just pop music. You have to surrender to it - the song I hated most when they started had me beaming by the end. Of course half the audience went outside because they looked like the cast of a suburban New Zealand pub but fuck, they killed it. Can't believe I almost didn't go. Wish Soriano would've shown up.

Just noticed on the Forced Exposure update that "...And Don't the Kids Just Love It" & "Mummy Your Not Watching Me" have been reissued on LP by Fire. $18. Thought I'd pass that along since these records rule & have been out of print for way too long.

Email scottbanana at hotmail dot com if you want any of these, thanks. Paypal preferred.

Also, if anyone could tell me how to do that cross-off thing so I can put a line through any sold items that would be great. The internet was surpisingly unhelpful.

Useless caveat: I'd really like these to go to people who want them for the music, not to flip them.

Thanks to some miscommunication I ended up with an extra copy of the Eat Skull "Dead Families" 7". If someone still needs it I'm selling it for $5 plus postage. Not that I can control this but I really want it to go to someone who wants it for themselves & not someone who's gonna flip it.

First person to email me at scottbanana at hotmail dot com gets it. Don't TermBo message me since that often gets stuck in my spam folder.

I found one of these on Gemm for a reasonable price ($19) but the seller hadn't updated his stock list since March so I emailed him first & asked if he still had it. He did but he decided to almost double the price so...fuck that. What a shitty move. Shoulda just bought it & taken my chances that he stil had it. So yeah, I want it but for around $20. Someone help me out please.
