Funny - I think the  sequencing of the CB record is one of it's strong points. I'm hit or miss with the second side (Godzilla bugs me too) but I think the first side is a total classic record side. Rockin Rocket Ship is ALMOST annoying to me but somehow it doesn't cross the line & that actually makes me like it more. It sounds like something off Beat Of The Traps to me. I get the sense that the songs on there were culled from years of recording - though I don't have shit to back that up.

Regarding the Inca Babies - man did my 15 year old goth self love that band! Especially Rumble & Surfin' In Locustland. I wrote them a letter & they wrote back & sent me stickers & shit & it just seemed like life could get no better. I totally copped that dude's drawing style & when I look back at the lyrics of my first band - they're such an Inca Babies ripoff that it's laughable. I was walking down the street in Portugal last year & a guy walked by me with an old thin Inca Babies Rumble t-shirt & while I'm not usually Mr "Hey Stranger!" I pretty much involuntarily blurted out "Inca Babies!". Talked to him for an hour. That said, I doubt I'll ever listen to them again unless it's a trip down memory lane.

Listening to that damn So Cow 7" over & over to the point that it's almost bugging me.

I'm a pretty huge fan of both the Cherry Blossoms record & J Foster & I wasn't that in to this collaboration. It's kind of a mess. Maybe it couldn't have possibly lived up to how great it sounded on paper but a lot of it sounds a little too spontaneous. It's an entertaining document & there are some spirited moments for sure - but I felt like I coulda spent my money better elsewhere. I had to mailorder it from Volcanic Tongue in Glasgow - haven't seen it popping up on mailorders in the US.

Emergency Third Rail Power Trip is probably all you need by The Rain Parade but it's really, really good. Twice as good as anything else I've heard by them. They lost a lot when David Roback left. He's the dude that went on to form Opal with Kendra Smith.
