Spilled a craft beer on my Sunday NYT crossword.

Only thing worse than a split 7" is a split 7" where the bands cover each others' songs.

In the spirit of keeping things positive, I can say that Sun Ra cover is better than the Fall cover.

I'm not crazy? That cover note says "Witch Trials vinyl is cool Mark E Smith 29th April 2015"?

That Fall cover is unreal.

Things don't seem quite as stupid this year.
I guess I'd get that C86 2xLP, only cuz I don't have an OG.  Probably more than an OG though.
Rhino's spraying bullshit alt.version of Tusk looks intriguing, but please keep in mind that I'm a worthless asshole.

I'd like to grab this too, since the OG single LP is pretty crammed with songs (11 per side). But not enough to go to RSD.

I'm sad to discover that Richard Papiercuts is not in fact a reclusive guy who only speaks through Whet on TB.

Guy Piccioto can suck it too. Produced the Blood Brothers, nice contribution.

Guy's #1 contribution: Brief Weeds

Yo but seriously, this lack of posi feedback is reaching epidemic proportions. I send my shit out in a reasonable time frame (sometimes next day), communicate in a friendly manner indicating a human intelligence, package well and everything arrives.

CAN A BROTHER GET SOME POSITIVE FEEDBACK WITHOUT TELLING YOU TO DO IT LIKE I'M YOUR FUCKIN' MOM, YOU DICK-RICKLES

I should have literally double the amount of feedback. Really fucking lame, it takes two fucking seconds.

Not to mention discogs sends you that reminder email with a link straight to the feedback page of the order, so there's no excuse at all.

I'm just dealing with this now, package shipped from England a little over a month ago. The discogs seller is being responsive, and I don't doubt he shipped it, but it doesn't seem like there's a whole lot I can do. I'll be happy if he splits the lost $$ with me, very bummed to lose the records.

I downloaded the upcoming Heron Oblivion album yesterday. I listened to it a couple of times today. I could really give a fuck about Ethan Miller and the Comets on Fire, I wanted to hear Meg Baird sing with a rock band. I have to say it is at least interesting. At times I feel like I am listening to adult contemporary psych rock, other times I feel I am listening to Gene Clark's "No Other." Some of the songs are just pretty. I don't know how I feel about admitting I like that. Languid and flowing it rarely rocks. Most songs follow the formula or building up from quiet to loud. Maybe I'm going soft in my old age. We'll see.

Do you like Meg's solo records?  I love the record.  I think some of those Comets records were good and some... But I pretty much love every record Meg has made (except that first Espers record.)

I've been looking forward to hearing this, I really like the new (ish) Meg Baird record.

I wonder what Traci Lords will allow you to ask her. Long ago when I worked at Tower she did an in-store & you weren't allowed to mention porn. It was spun as a promo tour for her techno album.

Non-Music Shit / Re: Can Bernie Win?
« on: February 10, 2016, 03:18:33 PM »
I would have a hard time voting for Hillary. I don't know if I could bring myself to do it. Whether she likes it or not, she carries Bill's baggage (as well as Obama's) and Nafta alone and Obama continuance of free trade policy i.e outsourcing, makes it impossible for me to back her.
The only way I could be coerced is women's rights. Although I don't think Roe v. Wade will be overturned, if that's even a possibility than I  might think otherwise. I really hate her though. And I hope those meetings courting Goldman Sachs become public.

There's too much at stake. Bought presidency or not, the most urgent issue of our time is climate change. It's tied directly to conflicts in the Middle East, where many people will go into forced migration because of it. It's tied directly to our economy, and the potential jobs it'll create. We can't afford a president who doesn't acknowledge this, and wants to repeal progressive social programs. Good thing we have a majority democratic coalition, but don't underestimate low-voter turnout.

This is where I'm at. I have many friends who are pro-Sanders (just like Nader before him) and I greatly respect their feeling on voting their hearts. I personally don't think Sanders can win so I don't share their enthusiasm on a practical level (and hey, I could be wrong). But I can't get with not voting at all if Hillary is the candidate, way too much at stake. Climate change being #1.

This foolishness aside, if it's Trump vs. Sanders, Trump may very well win. I don't believe Republicans will sit-out an election. People like my dad will hold his nose & vote Trump. Sanders, it's hard to say. There are probably quite a few moderate democrats who don't like some of his policies. I like him on paper, and of course would vote for him if he were the candidate, but I don't want to see the dead-lock that already exists with moderate Obama go haywire with Sanders.  Nothing would get done.
