I've had a brain fade. There was an IDBI-related single in 1979 - the band was quite possibly managed by DAM manager David Keeps - but I can't remember the artist/title. The band's name was something *like* 'Terminal Cheesecake'. Or maybe something with 'Strawberry' in it. The sleeve was (I think) some kinda colourful collage. I have it, that I know; I just don't know what it is. Can anyone help, please?

Did I mention I'm wearing a 1977 A&M promo Frampton "I"m In You" T-shirt right now?

So I was just checking the site for news on Bale/Rooney/Michu-to-Arsenal and got waylaid by Johan's thing on his new book. What do Termbros think of the beard?

Anyone here got the skinny on the various "Hot For Teacher" pressings? I have two:
(1) - white/red label, with thin-paper p/s which says '3rd pressing'
(2) - black/silver label, with card p/s which adds a UK 'Bizzarre Record Distribution' credit

Both are US pressings (JELLY003, mastered at Sterling).

So: is (2) the first or second pressing? Or is it in fact a FOURTH pressing (just for the UK?)?

Cheers,
Steve

Just been reading that Lookout thread and it made me wonder: is there a way to see how many downloads a particular title has received? Or is that info only available to the label/'rights holder'?

Cheers,
Steve

Used Records For Sale/Auctions/Wantlists / ebay: Tunnelrunners 7"
« on: June 11, 2010, 10:01:03 AM »
There's a Tunnelrunners 7" on eBay right now from seller modboy1. First time I've seen one for sale for a while.

Fantastic record, and so far - although already not cheap, obviously - it's still a steal. Worth keeping an eye on.

Music Shit / Liquid Stone
« on: May 17, 2010, 12:58:36 AM »
Somebody at the BBC is 'avin' a larf. In last night's "Worried About The Boy" drama about Boy George, there was a scene with him sitting in a pub in 1981 and, on the wall, there was a poster for a Liquid Stone gig.

That's some playfulness from some KBD-clued set-designer, right? Anyone know more, who, etc?

Music Shit / Ramones / Paley Bros "Come On Let's Go"
« on: February 15, 2010, 06:37:32 AM »
I have a UK white-label 'remixed version' of the single, which has no count-in and is the same as the version on the "R&R High School" LP. I also have a German copy of the single, which does have the count-in, and is the same as on the Paleys LP.

I don't have the 'normal' UK single (dunno why not!) and my question is: is this the same as the German edition?

(That remix was a good idea, gotta say, cos the original is all over the shop...).

Anyone, please?

Music Shit / Velvets "Loop" used on BBC trailer
« on: January 11, 2010, 11:43:48 AM »
By now, we're kinda used to Velvets tracks showing up all over mainstream telly, but now I notice that the BBC are currently using "Loop", from the Aspen flexi, in the trailer for their new "A History Of The World" show.

Blimey.

Heard bits of it today. Not bad for something recorded after 1982. Lead is sung by both a bloke and a bird, all in English. Tracks segue into each other. Guitar solos, distorted keyboards, motorik drumming, sections quite proggy...

It's a new album. Very new, apparently. Recorded in Norway, but I think they might be Icelandic...??

Anybody got any ideas WHO THIS IS, please?

If you have the "Mind Your Own Business" single, please can you check if it has correct A- and B- labels or if it has two B-labels?

Thanks.

I just heard The Rezillos' "Top Of The Pops" for the first time in 20+years and it's going to take me a week to come down, I swear.
