I love me some Les Thugs, one of the best(and criminally underrated) punk bands around, they bring the rock strong here. I just won another record of theirs on the ebay:

along with:

This is my favorite one. Sound is HUGE.

New Home Blitz LP and Drunkdriver "Born Pregnant" LP. Haven't had a chance to listen to them yet, since I've been so busy with school starting. UGH.

What? New Home Blitz LP? Where?!

If you go to My Minds Eye in Cleveland, make the effort to introduce yourself to the owner, Charles. He completely rules and probably deserves his own thread.

Definitely go to a bath house - a bunch are covered in the tour books.
There's one big famous one near the big famous hill thing. It was pretty amazing inside and the massage experience was pretty intense:
I got a 'soap massage', which meant laying nude on a gurney that had a table surface sort of like a scratchy boogie board and getting a super deep massage with wet soapy stuff by a super huge buff hungarian dude wearing just a loincloth. At the end, he hosed me off and -no joke- slapped my ass and said "Salute' or something similar. For real! Amusingly homoerotic I guess, but I didn't even think twice about it.

Quizno's has lousy topping options.

Last time I went to Quizno's, I requested no special sauce and the kid said, "You sure? It's hecka good!" No thanks.

Shit... lots of Nickelback fans here.  Very much out of left field.

Well if 'Something in Your Mouth' being the worst song I've ever heard and feeling the need to share this discovery makes me a fan, so be it.

That rules that whoever wrote to complain got a coupon. I always think about doing that and never do, except with flying stuff. Both times I've called to complain to Alaska Airlines I've gotten coupons, though I think that's pretty standard with Airline Companies.
I think the only other time I wrote a company was when I wrote a formal letter to the Sci-Fi Network to complain about their taking Ripley's Believe It Or Not off the air.

Oh yeah, a good Subway story: My brother went to a Subway and the guy making his sandwich had a flappy band-aid on his hand that was just loose, flopping around. My brother was just kind of stunned, and couldnt get a word out until blood just started running off the guy's hand right into the sandwich. My brother finally asked 'Excuse me, could you not bleed into my sandwich?' The guy apologized, went and washed his hands & put on a new band-aid, but then came back to his same sandwich (!), so my brother amazingly had to ask him to start over on a new one, which he reluctantly did. I guess my brother must have really wanted Subway.

Another dumb thread I can't pass by...
I also enjoy Subway, though it's actually been quite a long time since I've been. Smiller may remember that when he lived directly across the street from a Subway, I stopped by there almost EVERY DAY on my way home or stopped by his place, sub-shaped bag in hand. I think I got kinda burnt out, but I actually kinda like the squishyness of the bread there.
And yes, though your stomach tells you to try whatever is the new 'featured item' at Taco Bell on tour or road trip, Subway is just about the only thing you can get that doesnt result in the whole van being filled with toots.
Now that someone from Scotland has brought up Subway, when I was living over there I was really stoked to find out that Subway has a black bean patty thing that is not available over here. I thought it was really good and was really bummed to find out that over here it's just the standard Garden Burgertm patty.
And since the person who started this stupid thread requested our preferred Subway selection, I always get the same thing. Even though I eat meat (yeah, that meat is just too weird to eat without it being surrounded in mcnuggetness - I try various meats and always go back to my standard), I always get a veggie sandwich on the regular squishy wheat bun, substitute the 'fiesta sauce' (or whatever the spicy mayo is called) for the regular mayo, no mustard (or maybe a little spicy mustard if it doesnt confuse them), no cheese (also too fake), extra green peppers and hot yellow peppers. Oil & vinegar is required. Almost always put bbq chips inside and make some kinda suicide soda at the fountain thing.

This is tonight!
Worth noting that with Drew finally back in town for a couple days, this will be the first show with Drew AND new keyboard guy Matt.
DJ & shit apparently too. Unfortunately only beer/wine at Amnesia but that usually ends up being a good thing. New ice cream place just a block down.

Music Shit / Axemen taxman gets rad.
« on: August 21, 2009, 02:57:40 PM »
not sure if this has been posted already, but...

Axemen's David Theobald Drove A Car Into His Office Building

David Theobald, of New Zealand's Axemen, DROVE HIS GODDAMN MAZDA into the Christchurch Inland Revenue building, where Theobald had worked as a taxman for 25 years.  Citing concealment of workplace bullying and incompetent management as his motives, Theobold made sure no people were in harm's way and then smashed through the glass doors of the office's foyer.

Theobald is out on bail but has received a very intimidating letter from his employer's human resources department.  It reads, "Information has come to my attention which indicates that you may have intentionally driven a car through Inland Revenue's Christchurch building ? I am concerned that your conduct may be inconsistent with the Code of Conduct."

The Axemen have a new record out on Siltbreeze and are hereby nominated for the Tripwire badass of the decade award.

The singer and bass had a side project called the Lefties that weren't too bad. I have a 7" but I'm not sure if they put anything else out.

Lefties have a CD on X-Mas. I like it. They played in my bedroom on my 20th birthday. I dropped my cake on the floor.

ADA LAWSUIT AGAINST SQUEEZE INN DROPPED.
(but they are still moving. owner says it is close enough to
old location that you can throw a rock at the new place and hit it)

Though I havent been to the 'Inn for about five years now, I am still happy to hear this news. I did love sitting in that hot steamy shack. After eating there you feel like your whole body is covered in that cheese grease.
