Voting 'leave' does not make you a fascist. Although maybe you are enjoying the chaos?

hey all,

Gad Whip have their 4th tape out - Rhetorician Vacuum - C34, yellow & red shells, ltd x 30.
https://gadwhip.bandcamp.com/album/rhetorician-vacuum

I've kept shipping down to 2 gbp or 2.6 US$ for all non UK orders.

Rhetorician Vacuum – in this time, where are we heading? Huh? The clowns and buffoons really are in control, it's a master class in theatre and we, as the audience have been left confused, angry, and to be honest, fucking depressed. Where to go from here? Keep on keeping on, that’s what!

Thanks!

New Releases For Sale/Distro Updates / Gad Whip - Breakdown Test cassette
« on: September 04, 2015, 11:45:49 PM »
Hi all,

I thought some might be interested in our second tape - https://gadwhip.bandcamp.com/ - only a handful left or free download if thats your thing.

Cassette Gods gave it a decent review - http://cassettegods.blogspot.co.uk/2015/07/gad-whips-breakdown-test-gad-whips.html

My good buddy Josh K had this to say about it  - "The new Gad Whip cassette is really quite good. No I mean it. The thing has stayed in my car for some weeks now, as I have had to try to slowly (deliberately) unravel the odd musics within. What I hear is you guys ditching some of the (I'll call it) pretense of the first tape and just letting the 'weirdness' be an extra member of the band. There are remnants of The Fall (and the like) however it is squarely your own "thing". (Which is an admirable quality!) And finally: the earnestly semi-epic, half tape-manipulation, half indie (math?)-rock potpourri on side 2 is great. THAT'S the side that I have had to rewind several times and start over - just to attempt to get "it". Well done. This cassette needs a wider audience."

Also we're recording a load of new stuff at the end of the month and we're looking for labels / bands to do some split releases with, if you're interested get in touch.

Thanks,

Pete

hi all,

I hand collage old 1950s 1960s 7" and 12" sleeves in a kind of dada / surrealist style, great for small limited runs of records.

Some examples here - http://petefdavies.com/collages

Get in touch if you're interested.

thanks

Pete

yo,

you can now pre-order the QUEER?D SCIENCE ? Wrench / YEAR OF BIRDS ? Jaw split 12? LP

Black heavyweight vinyl, fold over sleeve with inserts. Edition of 150. (onec025)

shipping early January 2013. (in cruciform mailers!!)

We saw Queer?d Science (Manchester) at Supernormal earlier in the year, it was a Sunday afternoon and I was feeling a little jaded, hung over and a tad smelly and to say they blew away all of those and took Kath and I to another place and another dimension would be an understatement. We managed to grab a copy of their Girls Gone Wild CD from the merch tent and then it was a case of hoping they?d like to release something on One C, and here we are! Five new tracks of frenzied blood and guts split all over the floor for you to step into.

I first came across Year Of Birds (Middlesbrough) when I got hold of their split 12? with The Rebel towards the end of last year, we were mightily impressed with the angular sounds and sheer range of musical ideas that ran through their songs. The eleven tracks that feature on this new record are their finest to date, they build on their previous output with a focus and precision that takes you on a furious journey through a transgression of pure musical joy.

yo,

SCRATCHCARD LUNG ? Death Of The Cool C58 tape (onec024)

Edition of 60. 25 track album from one of Glasgow?s most original bands. Recorded in their flat in Pollokshields in July 2012 by Steevin Cossar, and following on from their recent release on Winning Sperm Party these recordings capture the duo, Gaz and Simon, in blistering and genial form. With song titles such as Cheryl Gets Malaria, That?ll Be Twelve Quid and Stabbed, Snubbed & Snookered you get a cultural commentary blasted at you with sardonic wit and super tight musical efficiency. For fucking real!

For a bit of historical context both Gaz and Simon were in Lummox, an infamous group of anarchist, crusty activist-types who used to play loud and chaotic gigs around Glasgow in the late 1990s/ early 2000s. Gaz was also one of the founding members of Gummy Stumps and also played in a local supergroup featuring members of Bangtwister, Gummy Stumps and Macrocosmica who were 2 bass, drums and spoken word and were amazingly named, 'Bubblewrap Holocaust'.

you can listen to the track Lift Shaft Danny here: http://soundcloud.com/onec_records/scratchcard-lung-lift-shaft
and grab a copy of the tape here: http://onec.greedbag.com/buy/scratchcard-lung-death-of-the-co/

HEY COLOSSUS - Witchfinder General Hospital 12" b/w The Butcher (onec026)

Black heavyweight vinyl, silkscreened fold over sleeve, printed labels + insert. Limited x 100

This was going to be an 8" lathe but happily morphed into a 12". Witchfinder General Hospital suspends reality and time with its sheer enormity, the instrumental vibe jams its way through almost 16 minutes and is backed up with the equally transcending The Butcher (9:09mins).

Ships from 8th October 2012

You can listen to the full version of Witchfinder General Hospital right here.
http://soundcloud.com/onec_records/hey-colossus-witchfinder

And order here.

Looks/sounds cool, but song is too short to justify overseas shipping cost. Like Pheromoans, it sold out quickly.

3 songs, total running time 5.30 mins. not so bad?
