Did you send the 20 Anti Climb 12"s he ordered?

Yeah of course and I know he received them because they were tracked, he paid up front for those. The 7" only had the test pressings done, my money was used as the first half of the cost up front. I spoke to the broker and know this.

This was around the time, April, that I think Al decided to take everyone for a ride, hence the non delivery of some of the Anti Climb 12"s. Remember he also did the lathe sub (40 x $100) and the tape sub (80 x $100) + some Shearing Pinx pre-orders and I'm sure a bunch of other stuff, you do the math.

He supposedly had an accident at work causing bad concussion, this then led to him having another fall resulting in more concussion and thus he could only sit in a dark room for weeks on end...mind you I spoke to his mum a couple of weeks ago and she said he was back at work. Maybe he is back working hard to pay his debts off, I really have no idea. I do know I need my money back.

very minor correction on one thing: the tape club was only $65 a pop.

I hate to say it because before all of this I was pals with the man, but I don't buy the concussion story, as he was really frustrated with doing a label and wanting to quit immediately before he vanished, which makes the timing awfully coincidental.  if the head injury story IS legit, don't you think he'd find a way to send one mass email or get somebody to throw up a post here or on Weird Canada.  we're talking several thousand dollars here.

ok thanks for clearing the tape sub cost up.
no I dont believe him re: the 'accident' either, a simple statement on the ST website explaining things would have made so much sense, but nada. also I have had several converations with his mother and she has never once mentioned it. I did speak to his dad once, but I actually think it was Al I was speaking to. I know he pretended to be his brother when one of his close friends phoned to see what was going on.

all in all a sorry fucking mess, if you try to do something you get accused of getting a 'lynch mob' together, and a lot of folks are buying the concussion tale. I'm just going to keep phoning and writing letters, not sure what else to do?

Wish I had that 12" I ordered from Scotch Tapes.

same here man. same here

What 12" was that? Was it on Scotch Tapes or were they just distributing the OneC 12"?

The Anti Climb 12"

No one has heard from that guy in ages. I know he took some of the Anti Climb 12"s, and he seemed like a totally stand up dude, but he's gone to ground

Al took 20 copies of the Anti Climb 12" from me. I last heard from him in August, he still owes me $400 from a Pompoir 7" we were supposed to be co-releasing. Personally I think he's a bullshitter of the highest order.

Reviews

"....the massive fun of Bellies! is in watching things ricochet madly, movement skittering from one blast to another every few seconds, everything tried, because they can. It's also in the great mash of voices: Nat's wandering, wobbly and surreal; Debi's powered by huge lungfuls of clout and vitality. They're on top of and all over each other all the time."
http://powerlunchesltd.co.uk

"It?s no secret. The shadowy lizard government pulling the strings behind Weird Canada HQ is fully brainwashed by Babysitter?s revolutionary rhetoric. The fifth chapter in their ever-evolving saga of sub-island urban wastoids is a fully realized dogma of red-lined rock absurdity. With western flair they drive through 60s mellow with surprising seriousness, espousing their living word in trinkets as clear as ?I?m riding on a plane / a real astral plane?. The blend of rural-rock, 90s hair-pop, and completely burnt punk has never been weirder, as tracks like ?be cool? and ?sex pet? rip asunder fledging notions of genre. A serious favorite in the nation of fringe. GRIP AND GET FREE."

well its been 6/7 weeks since Al sent me that email and I havent recieved any package or money order.

I would have thought it would be in his best interests to make some sort of public statement through his website, maybe people might be more inclined to try and help Al out of the hole.
