Music Shit / Re: Oi!
« on: September 16, 2011, 01:21:04 PM »
Last night while DJing I realized I have so many sick UK PUNK and OI 7"s.

you mean the same ones you played bought 2 weeks ago? or was it 4 weeks ago?

THE COLLECTOR continues to collect.

Supposedly Pearce makes a decent living offa DIJ records and merch.  Lotsa merch.  Mostly in Europe, I guess.  Right now NYC's got a boner for anything goth / post-industrial, and that shop Mishka is tapped into that aesthetic.  Still, who would be goofy or naive enough to wear that jacket in public?

What's even funnier is when people get DIJ tattoos

"but it's got the 6 on it!"

New Releases For Sale/Distro Updates / Re: Home Blitz - A.T.K. 7"

That part of the song always has noise over it when played live, pretty sure it's intentional.

New Releases For Sale/Distro Updates / FREE CLINIC/HALF NELSON split LP
« on: September 02, 2011, 09:25:46 AM »
Two of my favorite bands from here in PGH just put out this split.  I usually can't stand splits but somehow this one makes sense.  I heard it last night and felt the need to spread the word.

Free Clinic play scummy noise punk, you can hear some tracks of their side here - http://www.mediafire.com/?nnr6oxpi1rtvlyo(posted with the band and label's permission)
Half Nelson uses tapes, electronics, and other objects to project the realest of basement vibes.

They're $10 and you can order them at factoetkids(at)uljafactory.com.  Features cover artwork by John Olson of Wolf Eyes.

Grouper, Dragging a Dead Deer Up a Hill.

I love this record but I'm starting to think it's the best she's going to release.

In particular, "Heavy Water/I'd Rather Be Sleeping" jumps out to me as being miles beyond anything else she's done.

Non-Music Shit / Re: Breaking Bad

I haven't done meth in a few years, but it almost made me want some.

That's the desired effect of this show, right.....?

I just got a flashback of Tuco crushing up the blue stuff and doing bumps of it off his giant knife.

*snort* "AUGHHHHHHHH YEEEEAH, WOOO YEAH"

The Fushitsusha double live albums on PSF are fantastic, especially the second one, PSF 15/16.

Hey Officer Brad(?) lost your number, send me a text if you see this!  The Helter Shelter got shut down for good by cops.  I'm moving the show to a place that's nearby, just waiting to double confirm it.  I'll get you details by tomorrow hopefully.
