Seriously people, this GRIS GRIS set is amazing!

listening now. fuck they were such a great band

i remember reading stories about some psych band who took them on tour and were completely blown off the stage by them every night. hard act to follow

Morlocks? Me thinks. The live show I saw during this time has to be one of my favourite shows I’ve seen.

I also believe that the Electric Bunnies singles (and album) are brilliant records that I expect to be rediscovered and appreciated by future generations.

Finally getting around to listening to this, the artwork always made me mentally file them into the check out later camp. I missed out!

Been on an Icky Boyfriends kick lately as well, and had never seen I'm Not Fascinating, so I jumped on this when I saw it was online.  Great stuff, really hit the spot the other night.  Also, regardless of the band, just a really good underground film too.

I watched it on Friday, enjoyed it, provided a few chuckles, thanks for posting it. Monoshock guys were in this. (Derr, Runyan)

Listening to Human Snake by P22. A friend I trust recommended 'em on Facebook. It's really good. I'd never heard of them or the label that put this out. It has one cool HC song, but it's mostly artsy stripped down "angular" post punk, but not annoyingly artsy or annoyingly angular. It's also political and smart.

I saw this on the last Sorry State mailing list, I'll have to give it a listen as that does sound like it would be right up my alley.

Listening to this today, reminds me of the Raincoats, Mekons and Gist. Pretty great so far.

my dad had boxes of girly mags and the bottom drawer of his dresser broke because it was so heavy from being stuffed full of mags, lol.  i used to take one or two at a time, like a library, lol.

I'm guilty of this, except it was at a place of employment (brew your own) there was a stash of Penthouses in the break room that I would bring home and return.

Also. Scramble porn.

Party Boys - No Agro 1984

De-constructed roots music from these California weirdos. This is what bands like Gibson Bros. sounded like in my head before actually hearing their recorded output. I'm really loving this record. Not much output from the members of this group as per Discogs, one fellow was in a Posh Boy band, Gothic Hut.The other person with some renown was Marnie Weber, who recorded this equally awesome but entirely different record.

Marnie - Songs Hurt Me 1988

Sparse instrumentation, mostly synth-based, post-punk. Stand out track Shanghai My Heart.

and

The Serfs come from the Wasted Tapes/Cincinnati scene, more post-punk from the well that they seem to be drinking from over there.
Riki does not sound like a 2020 record at all, 4AD comes to mind, not something I listen to often but it's fine for now.

Great NY New Wave not unlike the B-52's, slightly less campy, a bit tougher? Love it.

Lavender Flu LP
Vivienne Styg 12"
Protruders 7"
En Attendant Ana LP
Cindy Lee LP

Listened to the En Attendant Ana album yesterday, great record. Seen that name around a bunch, didn't pay much mind, decided to give it a spin as it had popped up in here, thoroughly enjoyable record.

On the way to work this morning, I was blasting The Cowboy - Wifi on the Prairie. No sophomore slump on this album. A strong contender for album of the year, every track on this shines! Am I liking this better than Homostupids? I may be.

Cool, to hear that. I haven't listened to the new album yet.

This morning I checked out the Das Drip(Great, will listen to it again), Nosferatu(Sold on the cover art, tunes ain't too shabby either) and right now I'm listening to A.H. Kraken(ITR album, never listened to this group until recently, certainly in the mood for it right now, "She Plays Loud" sounds like aq Parisian Arab on Radar).
