Curra's is nasty. I don't know anyone who goes there anymore and I'd rather go to Chuy's.
Polvos is great and worth it for the salsa bar. There's so many god damn places to eat here now it's ridiculous.. I want to grip some Veracruz but it's on the other side of town.

smh Polvos food is the worst. Also they charge you for the salsa bar now? Curras is way better.

Matt's El Rancho
Veracruz
Taco-Mex
Habanero
Azul Tequila
El Primo
etc

pretty much anywhere is good to great except El Patio is pretty rugged

New Releases For Sale/Distro Updates / Re: The Bats - Reissues
« on: May 11, 2014, 09:19:22 PM »
Compiletly Bats was a single LP initially, no? Wonder why it would be pressed as a double.

Anyways, the retail on these (if they are like the last FN reissues on CT) are like $33 for 2LPs and $22 for a single LP, so two 2LPs and an LP for $68 isn't that bad in comparison. I'm not sure why a domestic 2LP has a $33 SRP though.

I have more of these on the way, and will also have some for wholesale if anyone is keen. Email me at domamerica@gmail.com if interested in either.

Music Shit / Re: The Fix 7" reissues

You or I won't buy the fakes, but how often do you see some fake of a $1,000 record on eBay and it still ends at $250 or whatever?  This is enough to fit the bill.

These aren't 'fakes' (unless you're like that punisher who came into the shop recently and referred to all reissues, legit or otherwise, as 'fakes') though, they're legitimate reissues. If it was some rando bootleg I could see a few Ebay mishaps but who in the world that is ready to drop serious $$ on a Fix 7" wouldn't be aware of these reissues and ask the seller to be sure?

Maurizio Bianchi's 1981 Symphony for a Genocide LP is the artist's most well known work, widely recognized as a classic of early industrial music. A year and a half after its initial release on vinyl in a limited edition of 227 copies, the album was reissued on cassette by the Broken Flag label.

It was at this time that Bianchi created an entirely new recording drawn from the audio of the original LP. Entitled S.F.A.G. 81 and issued in January 1983 as a companion to the Symphony for a Genocide cassette release, it was a radically different work comprised solely of two extended, side-long tracks. Bianchi had already began to evolve from the harsh and primitive attack of his earliest releases toward a more desolate, introspective sound exemplified by The Plain Truth and Armaghedon albums; S.F.A.G. 81 lands somewhere in between these two approaches. Remnants of the relentless mechanical rhythms and synthesizer churn of the original Symphony remain, but it is as though one were listening to them from a distance, lost in the midst of a massive blizzard. Strains of recognizable sound drift in and out of earshot like hallucinations, echoing across the bleak stretches of grayed-out sound.

The S.F.A.G. 81 recording has been re-released (often in abridged form) on cassette and CD several times over the years, and an except appeared on one LP side of Vinyl On Demand's massive five-disc Broken Flag retrospective box set; this reissue marks the first time ever the complete album has been available on vinyl. Remastered and fully authorized, it comes packaged in thick tip-on jackets with artwork by longtime Bianchi collaborator Siegmar Fricke. One-time pressing of 527 copies.

Available from Midheaven, Forced Exposure, Fusetron, Aquarius, La Vida Es Un Mus, etc.:
