Music Shit / Re: Grateful Dead

Just finished watching the LONG STRANGE TRIP documentary that came out earlier this year and I enjoyed the hell out of it.  There's not much new information, but it's just fun to see all of the footage and hear the stories from the band and their road crew, etc.  There's not much that I can sit for four hours straight and watch, but this one had me hooked.

Won't be long before the 'ironic' posts send this into pop punk territory, but Effete and Impudent Snobs for me.

Damn, I'm not an expert on everything the guy has done in his career but that Junior Executives song is definitely better than any Phantom Surfers shit and sludgier than anything else pre-Flipper except maybe a few Mike Rep songs.

I'm going to ignore all of the namecalling and whatever else until certain posters either give up or weed themselves out, but I will say that Neck Chop is one of the better distros around right now.  I put in a decently large order during the recent sale and got a great deal compared to what I could have gotten anywhere else (including locally).  Also, more importantly, as someone who likes to listen to a wide range of music, not just punk, I appreciate anyone who tries to bring a variety of records into their sales collection -- there are way too many people who are just carrying niche genres (or more commonly, a mirror of Florida's Dying, etc), so bring on the Cranberries or dad-rock or whatever as long as it means you're offering something different in some way.  A couple of the things I picked up from Neck Chop were items that I didn't even realize had been released just because none of the typical punk channels are carrying them.  Not sure what brought this all on but the "punker-than-thou" shit is pathetic and probably means that you try way too hard in real life to adhere to some kind of played out image/lifestyle.

You've come to the right place.

Music Shit / Re: OBSCURE DIRTY SOUTH RAP.

What happened?

what happened is that you've never posted anything of value.

ive got a badass electric eels repro shirt that disputes that.

You were one of the few before me and Mr. Morton had a discussion! haha I paid him his percentage of the profits (lets just say that did not crack triple digits) and then desisted. He said i could continue selling them as long as i put the swastika back on instead of the star of david i replaced it with. Which i respectfully declined. Thanks for letting me sell a few John!

I was wondering what happened to that shirt.  I actually spilled neon purple (or something) Mountain Dew Kickstarter on mine while driving in the middle of Mississippi or Tennessee at like 2 AM and had to drive around looking for stain remover before it settled because I knew I couldn't get another one -- luckily all came out in the wash.

Can we delete this entire new school of idiotic internet tough bois that has for some reason congregated here and go back to early 2016 when everyone was still trying to figure out how to carry on as reformed '00s garage turkeys?

Not to hijack but I've been trying to find the Peter Brotzmann documentary ever since I missed when it played in Mississippi last January...if anyone knows where to find a copy for less than 100 bucks (only copy on Discogs), let me know.

Worse than Pop Punk / Re: Best Exploited albums
« on: May 23, 2017, 06:05:09 PM »
we see a lot of what's happening in these lyrics also happening today in real life and politics. You notice that novody wants to take the blame? The people in power i mean. They would rather find a scapegot for all the problems that they cause. Also in a way everyone is to blame really

Is this satire?

Upcoming Shows/Tours/Events / Re: CROPPED OUT fest

Cropped Out is bar none the best festival experience I've ever had.  I hope the inclusion of The Fall this year doesn't this to the attention of the normal indie festival demographic (who will probably be surprised to find out that Mark E Smith has gone full meth mouth and doesn't play anything from the 80s albums)...it's usually a bunch of weirdos!

Even as an impressionable Larry Clark loving teen I didn't think much of Another Day in Paradise.  Would be curious to see what you think of it in 2017.
