Non-Music Shit / Re: hours of sleep per nite
« on: April 27, 2008, 03:45:24 AM »
Drew talked about him hearing about that large percentage of your life being at sleep and it fucked him up.
I didn't know about that stat but I still never slept.
I remember being really young and watching Carson, Ullman, and Letterman.  On weekends I always watched Python, Young Ones, and SNL.
To most of us, now, those shows don't sound late but to a 4/5/6 year old those shows were on LATE!
Because of lack of sleep I used to fall asleep during dinner, face on the plate, and would wake up in my bed then wake up my mom or dad because I was hungry and missed dinner.  I regularly ate re-heated dinner at midnight and beyond.
I was a child of TV to the extreme.
I was always placed in front of the 24" screen that was cased in this fake wood finish.
We had a VCR and would tape the dumbest shit and I would watch it over and over.
I'm sure my parents attic has a goldmine of Muppet Babies, MTV, Finders Keepers, Soaps, and a bunch of other random things from '82 to '88.
I really wish my sleeping pattern wasn't so weird.  It bums me out.
I have three sisters and they all have been able to sleep normal patterns.
My father has always been on a strict schedule for everything, including sleep.
My mom is a super light sleeper that will nap off at any given chance.
I'm not like any of them.  It sucks!  I wish I could nod off and do it to it like everyone else but I can't.
The gayest part is that I fall in to deep sleep and will only wake up when my body tells me to.
If someone tells me to wake up and I'm not prepared I can't do it.  My body wont allow it.
No shitting myself(to reference another thread) but waking up pissing, throwing up, or humping an inanimate objects happens A LOT.

"Head banging" to Black Keys?
I didn't know you could do that to white boy negro music.

Another topic...
That forum talking the smack on Jay.  WOW!
I really want to disagree but some of that I agree with.

OK, bro, you write some cool tunes and have been in some great bands and do cool solo shit and stuck your dick in pussies mine and every other guy has been in but I do wonder why these fight type things happen at your shows.
There's a pattern.

For example!  I DJed a VCR show tonight and kids were on the stage kicking the drums and pushing over the people in the band.  Human slingshot style pushes into the drum kit and amps.
Did they punch kids or act a fool? NO!  They kept playing.  The coffin case(decks and mixer) were at the corner of the stage on this wheeled podium.  The kids were knocking my shit the whole time.  Did we toss off punches or call off the show? No, sir, we did not.
Five pint glasses broke by my feet, at least 6 beer bottles broke next to my station, and beer and sweat and agro boy power consumed the front of Cake Shop.
It's lame to say, "I thought you were garage!" but really on the level it's true.
You know what you're there for.  You play your show.  People act a drunken fool and do some dumb shit.
You play your show and go on.
I understand the sound totally going out and NOT being able to play because of that reason but being on a stage and getting angry because your crowd is acting like a typical crowd...  Check yourself.

I'm harsh, I'm going to fuck up dudes.  This show was lame, I'll blame it on who booked it because that's the easy pick.

Fuck that faggot shit.

You're harsh and will fight dudes, man.  HARSH!  So tough, except you pussy out on your shows when you feel the slightest bit of retard crowd shit that EVERYONE(not just rock stars like you) deals with.

I dig your shit and have nothing against you, but faggotry is faggotry.
Take that how you want.

PM me or e-mail me if you'd like to talk further.  I know you read this stuff.

I find violence to be a sensible and necessary form of problem solving, yet paradoxically I find UFC or wrestling incredibly puerile and distasteful.

Tina! Tina! Tina! Gotta agree with this one. Actually, I avoid actual-real fights these days & have for years, but there are times where it's necessary. If you're not a total douche, people won't want to fight you or at least it will be a rare circumstance where you're in that situation. And that picture does rule.

Exactly!  Growing up I had friends who would be in a fight or two every week and a FIGHT at least every month.  I always had people start shit with me but I just roll along and hang loose like it ain't no thang.
The only time I'll punch a face or tackle someone is when they're really out of line.  You always get the tough guy that's lookin' for a bruise-out but there's no reason to give him and his friend the satisfaction.
I only get physical when someone seriously threatens my life or a friends OR really gets out of line with a woman.  Yeah, most of my girl friends can take care of their self but there are times when you have boozed up date rapers that lurk on chicks and she's trying to fight him off.  That's when I draw that fuckin' line and will macho out.
Other than that, punching people and being tough is just for show.
By the way... that show's chilly.
Chilly ain't neva been cool.

This shit is going to progress more and more.
By the end of the summer we're going to see Jay Reatard on Prime Time or 20/20.
"A southern rocker with an anger problem lashes out on his drunk and violent fans.  In cities all around the world indie rockers and emo youth gather to see Mr Reatard perform his loud and hate filled music.  Too many of those nights turn WRONG!"
That's when they have the parents of a 26 year old douche bag that got jaw jacked talk about how terrible it is that their kid can't go to a venue and act like a dick.

He should only perform in hologram.  What ever happened to all of these star wars?

When I was in 3rd or 4th grade I woke up one Saturday morning and, as usual, started watching NBC's programs geared toward youngsters.
I was still in bed, only wearing my underwear and a t-shirt, and I lifted my leg to let out a standard morning fart.
Not just a fart.
Thick, bog-like mud slung out my a-hole and spread across my cheeks.
I was so embarrassed even though nobody saw or knew what I had just done.
I ran to the bathroom and tossed my tainted tighty whiteys in the sink and jumped in the shower.
I later washed my underwear in the sink and dried them in my closet because I didn't want my parents or sisters to find out what happened.
I think this is the first time I've thought about this or told anyone that this even happened.

Wow...  Termbo therapy!

Just mail him back and say something really racist.
"We only record in segregated studios.  I ain't sharin' no microphone with a colored."
"I'd rather sell my soul to a Chinaman than record with you!"

I'll have like 3 or 4 hours of sleep a night for a week or three and then my body starts getting crazy and I'll pass out and sleep for an entire weekend.
If I drink heavily and I've been going for a while without enough sleep I'll just pass out and nothing can wake me up for at least 12 hours.

How the fuck do you get ten hours of sleep a night?

Mike's a racist!
He's also got tons of gang related tattoos.
If you're Mexican, don't let him find out.

Med came over and was like, "I'm gonna open Pedro's!  You all drink for free!"
I think him and Tim were trying to get hookers.
The bartender flopped her tits in Tyler's hands to show him how heavy they were.  They were crazy heavy/huge/weird!
I think I got home around 10:00.

This isn't the point.
I read a myspace message before I went to bed and now I'm confused what channels Justin is going through.
I feel cheated.

September is far off.
Who knows if I'll even be there then.  I might move on to grayer pastures.
Just let me know when you're looking to work.  I'll hook it up.
