Music Shit / Re: What is everybody listening to? Part II

Q65 - Revolution

anybody know how much that's worth?  i know a store that's selling a copy of it for, like, $125.

That's at the high end of normal for that record. It's stalled around $80 on eBay lately.

Where was it? Other Music? They've been getting good psych there lately. They had a bunch of original Michael Yonkers LP's not long ago. Blossom Toes, etc.

It's actually at Welfare Records in Haverhill, MA (where the hell is that??, I know).  The thing could be in better shape, so I'm not going to worry about it.  I came across the Count Five's "Psychotic Reaction" the other day...not in the best shape either, but not annihilated.  Fifteen bucks.  I'm thinking I should have grabbed it.

Dead Boys first record took me a while...I still think it's a trifle over-rated (while "We Have Come For Your Children" is far under-appreciated).

Both of the "essential" double LPs from SST: "Zen Arcade" and "Double Nickels On The Dime."  Again, I've warmed up to them quite a bit, but I don't consider them the best albums in either band's catalog.

I didn't hate Crime, but it took some time.  Now I fucking love them.

And probably more than any other band, i pulled a real 180 with The Adverts.  I couldn't stand them at first.  Never could quite say why; something was just off.  Then finally I heard "New Church" for the first time in over a year, and it struck me completely differently.  Now The Adverts are one of my favorites.  Who the hell knows why.

how about The Jolt?  '79 mod revival?  i'm assuming it basically just sounds like The Chords, Secret Affair, etc.

ALSO

The Flys - "Waikiki Beach Refugees".  what's the deal.

Try spending a few days in Alabama. See how many times a day you hear Sweet Home Alabama on the radio there. It's out of control.

Enjoy your Dirty Water, it's not so bad.

hahaha...fair enough.

anybody know an easy way to get these reissues?  my only luck has been running into them at a store here and there.  and they're usually damn expensive.  they're imports, so i'd rather not go directly through the website.  shipping would probably be a fortune.

I have always been curious about the Ramones version of "Hungry Heart" though.

Ramones did Hungry Heart?  what the hell?  when and where?

gotta say, kinda like some Springsteen.  his early shit still makes my testes tingle.
