This is a bit of an early notice, but 90's Brackenridge thuggin' booze rock stalwarts THE ONYAS will be returning for Brisbane for what is likely to be their final hometown performance early 2011. MEAT THUMP will be supporting, and we are suitably chuffed.

Sat. 6th February, Woodland, Fortitude Valley. This live set will be recorded for LP release mid year on a new Brisbane based label.

Woodland is a pretty hip venue w/ the expectancy to pack out an audience at every gig, so Id like to get the word out as soon as possible. More info shortly.

MEAT THUMP is driving rock and roll band w/ a revolving cast of members, centering around 3 ex-WHITE COP's (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUWWRppQmgs). On the A-side of 'Neck Tattoo' you will hear 33 crawling minutes of practice room sessions and instrumental versions of current live tunes that represent the first two months of the band's recordings, with singalong folk track "At the End of the Night (Song to Drink)" included at the end. On the flip, the duo of BA + MF is joined by Matt Earle of XNOBBQX/Breakdance the Dawn records, for a thirty minute Butthole Surfers/Neil Young inspired psychedelic jamfest, extracted from an hr.+ session like liquid zinc from a batch of mixed industrial coating. Most of these tunes were recorded in the Streisand room, Wynnum North, between runs to Pierre's chicken and episodes of South Park.

KITCHEN'S FLOOR 'Too Dead To Notice' CS20
AKA THE STROKES 'Is This It' LP PT. 2

NEGATIVE GUEST LIST RECORDS 'PRESS RELEASE'

For those of you who've been too busy taking the Gin Club/Blank Dogs seriously to notice, the last few years have seen Kitchen's Floor cultivate a unique sound born in the lower-right bedrooms of Brisbane's inner city sharehousing. This gas was captured in all its lo-fi glory on 7? ('Orbit/Regrets') and full length  recordings ('Loneliness Is A Dirty Mattress') by the RIP Society Label, the latter of which was just pressed to vinyl in partnership with Bedroom Suck Records. These recordings were well received the world over and made listener's grow body hair. Here, the distribution hustle is passed to the hands of men, and I am proud to present the group's latest opus, and their definitive release thus far.

'Too Dead To Notice' sees Matt ?newt in the saucepan? Kennedy explore areas of shimmer not heard of since 1980's Dunedin. KF's initial duo of MK on gtr/vox and Julia Norris on drums is fleshed out w/ melodic stupor by Andrew McMellan of Cured Pink Radio on organ. The result is a malaise of pickled heartache and non stop downer hits, full of class and character. This cassette release (10? vinyl issue pending) was recorded live in Woolloongabba in an early winter of unseasonable warmth. Coasters, check mate! You hear the sweat but you don't wipe. You absorb. Suck it up! Here, hear the very best of one of Brisbane's few good bands in a post Razar/Leftovers gooniverse.

You haven't heard Kitchen's Floor until you've heard them DEAD.

Tracklisting:
Side A:
1) Instro
2) Left
3) Regrets
4) Woollens
5) Lander

Side B:
1) Graves
2) Back Home
3) No Love
4) Kidney Infection

NGL#14 is out now. It features interviews with Bill Orcutt, Slug Guts, Whores, Taipan and ROT SHIT, a lengthy Chinese Restaurants written history by Terminal Boredom user LF Restaurant, as well as writing on Everett True and Lars Von Trier from me, Xavier: Renegade Angel from DX, the first installment of 'The Review Ranch' by Home Blitz guitarist and Lemon Dots mastermind Theresa Smith, Arab on Radar by Native Cats' member/stand-up comedian Peter Escott, and a Columbus Scene Report by professor Dinosaur Mahaffey. Also features record reviews and Rolf Runners' guide to the 60's and 70's.

Issues 7-13 are on route to America for bootleg printings. Expect them any day.
I will be sending issues 1-6 and the new #14 Stateside next week.

To order single copies of any issue direct is $3.50PPD Australia and $US5.50 worldwide. Yr not gettin' ripped, and generally I'm losing money over it.

If you want copies for free, please submit to the magazine. We are always vaginantly looking for record reviews, interesting articles, advocation of trash and gutter culture, political theory, purple prose, 'artwork' and written comedy routines/cunt humour.

Issue 15 will feature Grong Grong, a Kitchen's Floor diary, and a retrospective on mid 90's all-Maori noise rock band (who opened for Bikini Kill), the Blue Heelers. Bark bark. Issue 16 will take a look at Men Who Release Records.

email dirtyalley AT msn DOT com for ordering info (this is also the paypal address) or to submit ideas for print.

Thanx.

To capitalize on the recent interest in Australia's sonic output, the debut release by Brisbane band WHITE COP is now available for purchase.

Influenced by punk music and Brisbane living ca. 2009.

100 copies.

Contact dirtyalley@msn.com for ordering details.

Here is the press release statement, written by friend and thespian I. Rudderford

'Smack Based' is the debut EP from Brisbane's only punk band. It is four songs of sweltering hard-nosed aggression released via the gentle Negative Guest List records label.

In an age where punk and virtuosity means next to nothing for just about everybody, Dub Cee are as refreshing as a cool glass of lightly carbonated spring water, with a couple drops of hard lysergia in the drink. The drum playing is militant and primitive, recalling Crass and feedtime The bass lines are fresh and popping, resembling Rancid and feedtime. The guitar and vocal interplay is the star of the show here, the two working together like a punk rock odd couple, often stopping between recordings so they can fist fight and call each other posers. 1) Amateurish and barely learned two chord playing, riffs 'appropriated' directly from GG Allin and the Icky Boyfriends. 2) Hard nosed, country bred rants of dementia done proper; lyrics that deal with such lurid subjects as the use of bennies on a Friday night 'cause I don't wanna hang out with no art-trumpeting beatoffs, the woes of the dreaded West End Acid Party, and the Stoked inducing hammer vibes of the E.S.P.R.I.T wearing, Seinfeld watching nineteen-90's. ?Pure Shit? was the first tune these two wrote, kicking it out fast one fateful afternoon in Woolloongabba under the watchful eye of local punk icon Dean Daggers. From that first pattering drum roll, these two knew they were onto something, and the rest as they say, is history.

WHITE COP may or may not be broken up, truth be told the members don't even know themselves. Whatever the future may hold for this troupe, 'Smack Based' serves to document their first, glorious steps.
