Aww thanks Kev! I wish the recording turned out a little bit better - they played a killer set. Great band!

In case you were wondering about the status of this thing: Got the sleeves and the records will be delivered next week. I will be assembling records and delivering a bunch to the band at their Woodland/KDVS Max Freedom show on Sunday 5/23, so they will have them for the tour (dates below).

Correction. They will have them for the southern portion of the tour...bummer.

Music Shit / Re: I still love Love
« on: May 13, 2010, 10:36:11 AM »

A few years ago Mrs. Bull and I saw Love in concert at Bowery Ballroom and we got pretty drunk.  We were surprised to see how effete (and how crazy) Arthur Lee came off.  Dude certainly LOOKED like he'd been in the clink, and he seemed both proud of his legacy and bemused to be so admired by this crowd of white people old enough to be his kids.  He wore an American flag bandana, spent a lot of time with his tamborine.  Not to disrespect the dead, but it was pretty funny and awkward in spots.  So, at one point, Mrs. Bull starts shouting, "Hey, Arthur Lee!  Did you get raped in prison?!"  Which, of course, cracked us up and irritated the fuck out of the insipid web designer boho types standing next to us.  As Mrs. Bull persisted in baiting Arthur (not that he could hear her, mind), the woman standing next to me sez, "You know, your girlfriend is being really obnoxious."  So I says to her, "That's my wife, bitch.  Where's your boyfriend?  Lemme talk to him."  So I say to her boyfriend, "Motherfucker, you gotta learn to control your bitch.  She's crazy."  And he scoffs, shakes his head as if to pity me, and says, "Haven't you learned anything from tonight?"

Good story.

My argument is that that book and all these bands are terrible.

The book isn't very good, that's true. It's ridiculous to get your panties in a twist about what bands made the cut or not.

the new unnatural helpers is absolutely mindblowing. completely wild, unhinged decadence. up there with the guinea worms 2xlp. amazing stuff. reality is ok now, thank you unnatural helpers

What is label is that Unnatural Helpers out on? I have an mp3 of theirs (from a SubPop sampler? Probably tagged wrong.) and it sucks, yet their split 7" with The Intelligence is cool. The Dirty Knobby 7" of theirs is not bad either.

The new lp is coming out on Hardly Art. Unnatural Helpers are great, but I didn't dig that split with the Intelligence. I believe they have a new 7" of material recorded at the same time as their track on the Babyhead comp, I need to pick that thing up.

Rib Cages - Will Beg 4 Money Cassette - great stuff. Scuzzy blues and rock and roll. Didn't know that people really played 12 string guitars.

Teepee - X2 Skrot Up Cassette - not sure if it is the cold medicine or the music but this has me zoning out. Sounds good.

Jeff, will Sonic Boom be getting these?
