I picked up that Macs 7" for $4 a couple of months ago, and got the seattle syndrome 1 comp for $13 yesterday.  'I'm 37' is a killer song and so is 'walking down the street'.  I don't really dig the 'cowboy song' very much though.

mostly it is the last song on the a-side that really took it to shit.  jesse's voice is GRATING on that song.  the 7" kills, and the two songs on the 7" show up on the lp and are not near as good.

I can see why you don't really dig that song.  It is pushing it a bit for me.

I really like the A-side of the Dutchess and Duke album.  There are a couple of bummers on the B...but so what, it is still good.  I really dug the 7".

The Vaselines, Pissed Jeans, and Mudhoney are on the bill at the Sub Pop 20th Anniversary Festival on the 12th (along with 6-8 others).  Jacuzzi Boys are playing at the Fun House on the 14th.

not to go all MRR on anyone, BUT these are MAJOR labels. sub pop, matador, vice. all in business with big oil or walmart or macdonalds. corporate burger!

Does this mean they are motivated to make money?  I'm shocked...disturbed.  Just like all of those consumers who buy multiple copies of stupid limited edition records so they can sell them.

The Pastels - Up For A Bit With The Pastels...The B-Side of this album is really good.  They definitely have some shitty releases/songs, but this is good.
