looks like standard r'n'r to me:

people crawling up asses, people asking you for doing bullshit, dudes using the camera for nearly gettin' girls, wrong sense of coolness, always playing the same song that everybody knows, posing, boredom, mindlessness, redundance

there's nothing wrong with wavves i guess.

wet hair and driphouse.

both post-raccoo-oo-oon bands/projects. didn't like rac a lot and this stuff either. there's new age-y synths all over this and that's a trend i'm already fed up with 2 weeks after it started. i'm so glad that emeralds and the new-age-tapes dudes (skaters) are a lot smarter and more inspired than all those hipster kids trying to jump the bandwagon.

I think Wet Hair LP is pretty damn good.  It sounds like a mix of Ash Ra Tempel, Suicide, and Silver Apples with creepy vocals.  To each his own, but that band rules.

oooh, shit. what happended there? wanted to say rac leaves me cold as those two new projects. maybe i gotta listen to it a few more times. i didn't want to call those dudes "bandwagon-jumping kids". one reason is obviously: they're no kids.
some friends were just talking about this new new age thing, showed me stuff etc and i was wondering since then: why somebody would have the motivation to do neo n.a.?

the guitar sounds that came out of Sunlight are the one redeeming factor in that entire scene. (1)

At The gates appeared with the apparent intention of being the Fugazi to Entombed's Black Flag.  Awful, awful band, screamo with longer hair. (2)

point one: dunno, british scene? esp napalm death (early & not early) and carcass.... "exhumed to consume" just nails so fuckin' much that's infinitely cool about (d-)metal.

two: i have no idea bout atg's intentions (didn't listen to em back then) but when talking about formalized metal: atg and slayer definitely inspired every derivative band that nails so fuckin' much that ISN'T cool about metal today. (i don't even care to mention names)

Yeah, the Sunlight-recorded stuff kills Morrisound.

one of the great genuine rooaarrghs of r'n'r history! heaviness of death metal + the sawing qualities of black metal. combined with ultra rocking songwriting - BOOM!

when it comes to sunlight/swedeath everybody's always talking bout early entombed and "like an everflowing stream". what's with "massive killing capacity"? it's quite underappreciated i think.

Other records from then I still dig are Morbid Angel's "Alters Of Madness", Obituary's "Slowly We Rot" & "Street Cleaner" by Godflesh which is still one of my favourite albums. I'm going to pull some of these out tonight I'm thinking.

i remember that when i was 13 i hated the morri sound. especially the kick drum.

i was seriously underwhelmed by this record.  please do not ever mention High Rise when describing this band.  nothing like them at all.  nothing.

err... who would do that??? did you buy it cause somebody told you it sounds like that? i could see somebody compare o.p. to fushitsucha for 3sec and even that wouldn't fit. but high rise is totally in another universe.
