Worst and only band: Played rhythm guitar in this really awful soft rock closet-dyke music band (3 chicks and a dude) when I was 14. I'm not a lezzie, but the singer and probably the drummer were. I just joined because I thought we were gonna play punk rock (obviously didn't happen). What's funny is that our lead guitarist was a heavy metal guy who would warm up by playing Metallica riffs. Our first show was in the coffee shop at a Books-a-Million and I quit the band via phone call the next day.

Empire - Expensive Sound
Post-punk with metal riffs and the occasional power-popish tune. This album's fuckin' brilliant. Better than anything Generation X or stoopid Billy Idol put out that's for sure.

I have nothing to add to this convo other than the first and only time I saw them play three years ago in Chicago (Cobra Lounge) I was blown away. Great energy and the crowd went nuts. Haven't really paid attention to them in a while.
