Music Shit / Re: What's your crown jewel?

I'd be willing to sell just about anything, but hometown pride puts the Zero Boys "Vicious Circle" demo up there for me:

If I had an OG Livin' In the '80s 7", that'd be here too, for sure.

Also, for personal connection in addition to being utterly amazing, the X "Aspirations" LP and "I Don't Wanna Go Out" 7".

I have plenty of not-exciting records I wouldn't want to part with for dumb sentimental reasons.

I don't know if anyone has posted about this or not, but Magnetic South just released a cassette version of the Early Indiana Punk and New Wave: Crazy Al's Years (76-83) 2xCD. The cassette version is essentially a "Best Of," selected from the two CDs. It's a great collection of (mostly) unreleased stuff from Indiana.

And you can still get the CD here:

And, for what it's worth, Magnetic South still has tape copies of the Zero Boys History Of... reissue.

No, there isn't vinyl on this. Hopefully someone will press the Crazy Al's stuff sometime.

have had an empty Paniks "wanna kill my mom" sleeve ever since Gulcher cleared the archive. Is anybody sitting on a spare 7" to fill it? Or interested in the sleeve? Not much fun flipping past empty sleeves in the boxes...

I'm in the same boat. I'll probably just bite the bullet eventually and buy a copy with a beat sleeve if I can and swamp 'em out.

I haven't heard anything about it. Burkhard is on the KBD list, maybe try asking there?

I'd really like to hear this:

Actually, I'd love to own it, but that's not gonna happen.

Definitely a case where some sound clips would make the sale.

In my case, a giant bank account would help too.

Yeah, me too. Great stuff. Some stuff I know, but it's always good to hear a well put together comp. And of course, cool to hear new stuff. Thanks for putting these together and posting them.

@ickibod

Basically the same shit I put on Flickr: bands, street photos and other random shit. Mostly older photos I've posted a hundred times other places.

I'm sure someone from Australia can help better, but I've been a few times. Decent record stores, okay food. It's been a while, so I don't remember names of many places.

Let me ask LaceyUnderall for recommendations. She lived there for a year and might have some ideas.

Thanks for the heads up Justin.

Music Shit / Re: Best show you ever went to in your life and why

Teengenerate @ the Fireside Bowl, Chicago.

Problematics & Brides (then called the Demonics) @ the Sitcom, Indianapolis. A smallish show, but everyone went off, which was/is kind of unusual for Indianapolis. Problematics at their peak.

Sonic's Rendezvous Band reunion @ Magic Stick, Detroit. I went largely because I was super into Radio Birdman and Deniz Tek was playing with them, filling in Fred Smith's role. I liked SRB too though. After the show I was so, so happy I went. It solidified SRB as one of my all time favorite bands. It was just incredible. I flew out from SF to see that show and it was worth every penny.

Zero Boys New Years Eve 1999/2000 show, Indianapolis. Getting to see the Zero Boys with Terry Hollywood. So great, even though some dumbass threw a bottle hitting Paul in the face and they threatened to stop the show.

Real Kids reunion shows @ Coney Island High. Those shows were stellar. Everytime I saw them after that it was a steady decline.
