The first Static Shock release of 2017 is out now:

SSR044: IDIOTA CIVILIZZATO - 'La Vita Silenziosa' 7"

Debut 7" EP from this new hardcore band based in Berlin, but with members from Italy, Mallorca and Australia (including people from DIAT and ORDEN MUNDIAL). IDIOTA CIVILIZZATO are here with the answer to the little asked question "What would Cheetah Chrome Motherfuckers be like if they grew up in the American midwest?". Hardcore punk being played because it's all that they know how to do and sounding like their lives depend on it.

"Who put these 4 people in a room together?! What is the Italian version of Midwest USA? And how did it show up in Berlin? These weirdos look like they met at a bus station and together make up the ripping hardcore version of a house of cards that feels like it could fall apart at any moment, then it does but that?s actually how the song goes so uno, due, tre, quattro and on with the next one, kapisce paisan? Idiota is gonna teach you a little bit of Italian with some catchy romance language grunts and groans, the meanderings of a blue collar immigrant stuck in a kitchen behind a door, away from the public, away from people. This is the sound of pent up frustration and the things you do to keep your head above water in a world that doesn?t understand you and doesn?t want to try." - Onton

The record comes in a reverse board pocket sleeve with an insert and download code.

Two new releases on Static Shock are now available to order:

SSR043: URANIUM CLUB - Who Made The Man? 7"

"Uranium Club return with a brand new single and a taster for their second album. "Who Made the Man? is like a gang of aliens landing on planet earth, finding an extensive back catalogue of Wire and Devo and deciding they want to form a band. The track builds and builds with peaks, odd noises, different parts that come out of nowhere and an instant vocal. It's a banger."

This 7" features an alternate take of 'Who Made the Man?' and an exclusive b side 'Small Fry'. All the sleeves are handstamped and all of the mailorder copies also have embossed innersleeves.

Available in the USA from Lumpy Records.

SSR046: TYRANNAMEN - S/T LP

"After five years of playing gigs Melbourne's Tyrannamen (who also feature members of Twerps and Whipper in their ranks) finally released their debut album on Cool Death Records but that pressing sold out instantly so Static Shock decided to do the honourable thing and keep this instant classic in print. The album is just 23 minutes long but every minute is worth the admission price alone. The album starts with calling card 'I Can't Read Your Mind' which is full of ramshackle yet instantly catchy punk rock but with a soulful and rock 'n' roll underbelly. It sits somewhere between Alex Chilton, Royal Headache and Irish power pop kings The Moondogs. Your jaw will drop and your feet start moving. Other highlights include the anthemic 'You Should Leave Him' which starts like The Undertones 'Get Over You' before heading into a straight up pounder with Nic Imfeld's raw but tuneful voice taking the song to pop heaven. This album tugs at your heart, twists at every turn and deserves to be loved for years and years to come."

Blue vinyl (limited to 88 copies) available only through mailorder.

Australians: Cool Death is getting a ton of these to distribute so hit them up if you would like copies for mailorder or your distro, thanks!

(FYI - I'm based in the UK, so most of these are available in the US from the labels or bands directly. Figured there may be a few people who'd be interested though!)

Hi there,
I hope everyone had a good Christmas / New Year break. Things have been busy as always here even though things have been a little bit quiet on the new release front. However, that's all about to change! We have three new releases out as of today, and also have a few things in the works (which you can read about further down). But to get things rolling:

NEW RELEASES:

SSR033: URANIUM CLUB - Human Exploration LP

Originally released as a cassette, the debut from Minneapolis' Uranium Club is now widely available as an LP. Uranium Club play a kind of minimalist, agitated, catchy punk rock that reminds us of Wire before they released 'Pink Flag', but with an extra snotty attitude and bundles of energy. For a more recent comparison try early Total Control or the Shitty Limits. Each of the seven tracks on here explode from the vinyl, with each track more energetic than the one before, and they'll all be stuck in your head for weeks afterwards.   First 100 copies are on red vinyl and only available via mailorder.

SSR034: STRUTTER - Demo CS

"Demo tape from this new Austin band that features members from IMPALERS, THEE NODES, BLOTTER and POWER TRIP among others. Seven tracks of high energy, catchy as hell hardcore punk that will make you want to go and meet your mates in the pogo."

Limited to 100 hand numbered and pro-dubbed cassettes.

SSR031CD: SHEER MAG - I / II CD

"Limited cd containing Sheer Mag's first two EP's to coincide with the bands first trip to Europe. Eight tracks in twenty seven minutes. In 2014, Sheer Mag seemingly came out of nowhere with possibly our favourite release of the year. They are the only band of recent times that manages to sound like a mix of a classic Seventies rock record, power pop and an obscure English DIY 7" from the late 70's. Everything sounds scrappy, fuzzy and scuzzy and it's all the better for it. The riff packed guitar work and fuzzed female vocals sit perfectly together whilst the crude rhythms just adds bounce and basic beats. Think a mix of the power pop delight of Protex,  the lo-fi nature of The Seize, the riffs of Thin Lizzy and the powerful female vocal of Suzi Quatro."
The CD comes in a reverse board digipak with lyric sheet insert.

REPRESSES:
After both being sold out for short while, we've repressed both the ULTRA VIOLENT - CRIME FOR REVENGE 7" and also the IMPALERS - PSYCHEDELIC SNUTSKALLAR LP. Both are killer records and we intend to keep them in circulation for as long as people want them. The next record we'll be repressing is the debut LP from THE NUMBER ONES, and that should be back in the next month or so.

DISTRO SALE:
In order to try and slim things down a little bit on the various shelves in my room where most of the records in the mailorder are kept, I've reduced the prices on a whole bunch of records in the distro. On the whole, most LP's are now around the ?5 mark and 7"s around ?2.50-3.00. Most I only have 1 or 2 copies left of, and I'd much rather they went to a good home than sit here. There's a lot of good stuff in there, so go wild. You can check out the reduced records right here: http://staticshockrecords.limitedrun.com/categories/sale

UPCOMING RELEASES:
It's looking like this year is going to undoubtedly be the most productive one we've had in the last seven years of doing the label, and we already have five records in the works that I want to tell you about right now!

The first of which will be the debut 7" from STRUTTER. You've probably noticed the tape above, well the 7" has another four brand new songs, and is one of the better 7"s I've heard in a while. This one is at the pressing plant right now and should be out in about a months time. If you're in the USA, the mighty BEACH IMPEDIMENT RECORDS is releasing this one over there, so keep an eye out for that alongside the debut LP from Blood Pressure!

Following that, the long awaited third EP from SHEER MAG will be coming out! Four new tracks, and just as great as the first two EP's. This one should be out for early-March. This is going to be a split release with the bands own WILSUNS RC imprint.

THE NUMBER ONES have been recording this past weekend for a new EP that will hopefully be leading up to their second full length. I believe the tracks are currently being mixed before being sent to Mikey Young for mastering, and will go to the plant shortly after that. The new songs they've been playing live lately are all total hits.

London's EFIALTIS are also recording for their debut 7" this weekend! Alongside Arms Race and Frau, EFIALTIS are hands down my favourite local band and they only get better each time I see them. If you haven't come across them yet, they play feral hard punk with vocals in Greek. They put out a solid demo last summer and I'm confident that the 7" will be even better.

Finally, SIEVEHEAD from Sheffield will be recording a new 7" for us in late Feburary as a follow up to their excellent debut LP 'Into The Blue' which came out on Milk Run a couple of months back. They play killer post punk that also reminds me a little of The Wedding Present covering The Wipers (or vice versa?) at times.

Okay, that's probably more than enough information for now, but thanks as always for the support and I hope you like the new releases as much as we do!

Hi there! Things have been a little quiet from us so far this year, but we've been working on a bunch of projects and will be releasing four records over the next few weeks. Apart from having the occasional sleepless night wondering how I'm going to pay for all of these I'm really excited about every one of them and I hope you will be too.

The first two are now available to order!

SSR025: ULTRA VIOLENT - Crime For Revenge 7" Reissue

Originally released on Riot City Records in 1983 and quickly becoming one of the label's most highly sought after releases, Ultra-Violent recorded just one single before breaking up when vocalist Adie went on to front the Metal incarnation of the English Dogs. Three songs of blistering UK82, and quite possibly the best record in the genre. Finally reissued 32 years later, with original copies regularly selling for ?70+ online. An excruciating amount of thought and love has been poured into this release to make it the best reissue it could be. The record also features a four page insert featuring reprints of original fanzine coverage, several previously unpublished photographs and also for the first time, a lyric sheet. Red vinyl available for mailorder only.

Americans: This has been released in the US by Video Disease Records, so please order from them and save time and postage.

Adie from Ultra Violent has also given us the thumbs up to make official Ultra Violent shirts featuring artwork from the insert, which are also available to order in the webstore. We've only made a small amount of these, so be quick!

SSR027: IMPALERS - Psychedelic Snutskallar 12"EP

In the modern climate of music, nothing sticks. Every week there is a new cool 7" or tape making the rounds on social media, littering your feed with Bandcamp demos and Instragamed cassette j cards. It's hard to keep up, yet an amazing time of stimulation and excitement for punks worldwide. But in the midst of all this madness - it's nice to know you can count on Impalers every year to release the best record of the year.

Unless you live under a rock, you probably already know what to expect from these guys. Their LP last year topped year end charts high and low. And Psychedelic Snutskallar does damage in all the same places. Peerless d-beat, a work of art. Completely unhinged yet tight and in the pocket. This time they have upped the ante with a monstrous opening track that takes up the whole A side at a never boring 11 minute length. Tripped out artwork and packing concept by Sam Ryser (Crazy Spirit, Dawn of Humans, Dripper World) and reworked material from short lived side project Sick Plot make this 12" EP a no brainer.

500 copies pressed, first 100 on Clear vinyl.

Americans: Please pick this up from 540 Records. It'll work out way cheaper for you!

Impalers will be coming to Europe this June for their first European tour, and will be bringing AJAX from New York with them! We've almost finished booking the tour, and will post dates up online once complete.

After these records, we'll have two more out very shortly! Here's the info. Both of these are also available to stream in full on our Bandcamp page right now:

SSR028: PERSPEX FLESH - Ordered Image 12"EP:
Just under a year from the release of their debut LP, PERSPEX FLESH return with a brand new 6 track 12" EP. Undoubtedly their strongest work yet, this takes all of the influences of the previous records, the feeling of claustrophobia, the tasteful nods to bands such as RUDIMENTARY PENI, SPIKE IN VAIN and COLD SWEAT, as well as an occasional post punk feel, and merges it into something ugly and unique. UK Hardcore has been possibly in it's best state for the best part of two decades in recent memory, and this is another record to help enforce that claim. Featuring members of THE FLEX, DiE and BROKEN ARM.

SSR029: SHEER MAG - S/T 7":
The debut 7" from Philadelphia's SHEER MAG finally gets a wider UK and European release! Sheer Mag seemingly came out of nowhere last Autumn with this killer four track EP. It is the only record of recent times that manages to sound like a mix of a classic Seventies rock record, power pop and an obscure English DIY 7" from the late 70's. Everything sounds scrappy, fuzzy and scuzzy and it's all the better for it. The riff packed guitar work and fuzzed female vocals sit perfectly together whilst the crude rhythms just adds bounce and basic beats. Think a mix of the power pop delight of Protex, the lo-fi nature of The Seize, the riffs of Thin Lizzy and the powerful female vocal of Suzi Quatro. It shouldn't work but it does. It really does!

Right, that's all for now, but expect more info in a couple of weeks with ordering info for the above and a few other bits! Thanks a lot for reading as always, and I hope you like the new records.

Two new releases on Static Shock are out now! I have a few copies left on colour for both if that's your thing.

If you're in America, Sorry State will have copies of Frau available later this week. Thanks!

SSR023: FRAU - Punk Is My Boyfriend 7"

"Static Shock Records gets the honour of releasing the debut three track 7" from London feminist punks Frau who feature members of Woolf and Good Throb. They released the much loved 8 track 10 minute demo on Tuff Enuff Records in late 2013 (which has now been reissued on LP by Dead Beat Records) and now return with three more short blasts of discordant and furious noise. 'Punk Is My Boyfriend' is a dirty and scratchy cut with pounding drums and an insistent guitar hook. It comes over like a mix of Pre 'Cut' Slits, Huggy Bear and Kleenex. 'Snakeskin' is possibly the only song in the world that could have appeared on both Crass' 'Bullshit Detector' and any Kill Rock Stars compilation. Final track 'Orca' sounds like it could fall apart at any moment and just about makes the one minute mark. The guitars grind over a busy bass, heavy yet loose drums and explosive vocals. DIY has never sounded so good."
Limited to 400 copies with hand stamped sleeves. Just under 100 copies on blue vinyl are available in the webstore.

SSR024: THE NUMBER ONES - S/T (AKA The #1s) LP

"The Number Ones will take you to power pop heaven with their razor sharp 10 track self titled debut album. They are a Dublin based four-piece featuring members of Cian Nugent and The Cosmos (Matador / No Quarter), Cheap Freaks (Big Neck), Strong Boys (Milk Run), and The Pacifics (Bachelor). Even though they are based in Dublin, they sound like a classic Good Vibrations band from 1979. The Number Ones have energy, passion and tunes so good, it makes you think you've heard them already. Each track is a golden nugget of power pop fun that never outlasts it's welcome as every track is under three minutes. Although this sort of music seems to have been done a million times before, it sounds fresh in the hands of The Number Ones. This is pure summer fun for fans of Rudi, Protex, Exploding Hearts, Buzzcocks and The Tranzmitors."

100 copies on mailorder only red vinyl are available in the store! If you live in America or Canada, Deranged Records will be releasing this over there in the next couple of weeks...

After a couple of pressing plant hiccup's, the latest release on Static Shock Records is now ready to order:

SSR020: THE LOVE TRIANGLE - Clever Clever LP

Heretofore, the Love Triangle's recordings have been marked by a particularly raw, aggressive, and even ugly take on classic power pop. Sure, the choruses were huge, but the recordings were ear-splittingly raw and aggressive. However, they've changed things up a bit for their first long-player, opting for a cleaner recording that assures nothing is lost in the translation to wax. The essential elements are still there--Tim's four-on-the-floor drumming, Josh's meandering walking bass lines, and Louis's thrillingly melodic vocals and guitar--but you can actually hear them all rather than just inferring their presence through a wall of feedback and fuzz. The effect is a full-length that recalls the classic songwriting of Nuggets greats like the Electric Prunes and the Seeds as much as it does the more melodic end of the '77 set like Protex, the Lurkers, and the Boys. An LP so good that we don't even need to tell you the band is members of Diat, Good Throb, Die, No, The Smear, CCTV and ex-Shitty Limits to get you to buy it.

Please note that this LP has been released in America by Sorry State Records, if you live there, it makes way more sense for you to go direct!

I also have a very small amount of leftover copies of the record release show version, these all have hand marble painted sleeves that are hand pasted onto old record sleeves. The records are test pressings, and are hand stamped. Only 50 were made, and the vast majority were sold at the show. These are for sale in the webstore too, but probably won't last too long.

TLT have also just recorded a brand new tape, and I have copies of that available too, believe me when I say it has some of their catchiest tracks yet.

You can order the LP from right here, or if you would prefer, you can download it for free from here (feel free to make a donation though!).

Things have been a little slow distro-wise lately, but I have just added some cool records and demos from local bands such as Die, Hunger, Frau and will be working on getting loads of killer stuff back in immediately.

Thanks for the support as always.

Hi everyone,
I have a new surprise release for sale today, courtesy of everyone's favourite (not) post punks from London and Toronto. Yes, HYGIENE have a new record out, and it's a Christmas single. You read that correctly.

SSR12: HYGIENE - CHRISTMAS DO / CHRISTMAS (BABY PLEASE COME HOME) 7"

Brand new seasonal single from Hygiene! This is limited to 150 copies, pressed onto red vinyl, and will never be made available again. This is singer Nat King Dole's take on the release:

"Remember a time when Top of the Pops was untainted by institutional complicity in the abuses of celebrity nonces?  When Tops of the Pops was a metaphorical hearth, gathered 'round to bathe in the glow of Christmas merriment?   Hygiene do.  With their new single 'Christmas Do,' they hearken back to a simpler time. A time when Christmas meant Slade, Wizzard, Elton John, Mud and Showaddywaddy on the radio at least 300 times a day.  Sleigh-bells are a-ringing' in this tribute to that most sacred of Christmas rituals: the office party.  As Hygiene sing "We're gonna have a Christmas Do," you can tell they really mean it.  Singer Nat King Dole IS ?Mr. Christmas?!  It?s as if he has been possessed all-at-once by the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future (particularly the one played by David Johansen in Scrooged).  'Christmas Do' is so rousing that it will have even the most hard-hearted scrooges, Crass fans and Islamic extremists in your family wishing ?merry xmas everybody?!   An instant Christmas classic, it is sure to feature in Morrisons adverts and Eastenders Christmas specials for decades to come.

Each record has been lovingly hand-pressed on festive red vinyl and comes packaged in a special Christmas card signed personally by the members of Hygiene.  This would make the perfect Christmas gift for that special someone in your life.  If your life lacks that special someone and you?re ?lonely this Christmas,? treat yourself to a copy of 'Christmas Do' and you might think twice about topping yourself on Christmas day.  This December, ?step into Christmas? with Hygiene and you?ll ?wish it could be Christmas everyday?!"

You can order this right now from http://www.staticshockrecords.com/distro

If you are in America, I'd urge you to save postage, and order direct from Sorry State Records, who already have copies, and will be posted up for sale later today: http://www.sorrystaterecords.com

In other news, the debut 7" from Liverpool's Violent Reaction is now back in print (now on it's third pressing!) and is now packaged in an all new fold out 5 panel sleeve. Check out the artwork here:
I am down to under a hundred copies of this now, so if you are after this record, the time is probably coming to act. VR will be releasing their debut LP next year on Painkiller Records.

SSR15: VIOLENT REACTION - S/T 7"

Following a promising demo last year, Liverpool's Violent Reaction finally release their debut 7" ep. Six tracks of undiluted hardcore punk that are more influenced by Discharge, Poison Idea, Out Cold and Blitz than the likes of Youth Of Today, VR is for those who like their straight edge hardcore a little more antisocial.Originally started as a one man project by Tom Pimlott (Sectarian Violence, Nowhere Fast), VR is now playing live with members of Stab and Abolition backing him up. Third press with 'proper' fold out picture sleeves and brand new updated artwork.

------

In other label news, Sauna Youth will be releasing a new single in a few weeks time, and I will post tracks and full info very shortly, but trust me, this is a total banger and I'm really excited about getting to do this one. Following that, in 2013 there will be releases from Creem, Perspex Flesh, Violent Future and more to come. It's definitely going to be a good year!

The distro has been fairly quiet lately, but I've just added a bunch of cool records and demos with a main focus on local bands from London, this includes a great benefit comp tape on Muscle Horse including brand new tracks from NO, Satellites Of Love, Woolf and more, Good Throb's debut 7", Shame's tape (which is totally killer) and a lot more. Check them out!

Thanks for all the support, as always.

I try not to spam boards too much with distro stuff (esp. for individual titles), but I figured this may interest a few people on here:

I've just managed to snag a box of the recent RSD reissue of The Scientists - Last Night 7" to distro for anyone who missed it or couldn't be bothered to deal with the Record Store Day shitstorm. I'm pretty sure that I'm the only distro that has these right now, plus it's probably cheaper than most stores too. ?4.50 each.

I'm thrilled to announce that the debut lp from Brain F≠ is now out and available to order! This is also the first lp that Static Shock has released and I'm really excited with how it's come out.  For more info see below.

"The first two singles from North Carolina, USA's Brain F≠ left a lot of people scratching their heads: Is it garage? Is it hardcore? (It's definitely punk.) How did they write such catchy riffs? How do you pronounce "F≠?" Brain F≠'s debut long player, Sleep Rough, will force you to ponder those same questions and may breed even more (and we mean that in the best way possible). Everything has been amped up for this release... the hard stuff is harder, the catchy stuff is catchier (oh, is it catchy!), and the weird stuff is weirder. There's no need for band comparisons, but if you're into that sort of thing then imagine the SAINTS' minds in TEENGENERATE and the AVENGERS' bodies sent to a dystopian future. Really, though, this sounds like the year 2011; if you like huge guitars, endless vocal hooks, and a turbo-charged rhythm section (you do), then you need to hear this record." A download code is included.

You can listen to three tracks here: http://soundcloud.com/static-shock-records

Pressing info:
125 Clear
125 Purple
375 Black
(There was only supposed to be one limited version of this record, which was supposed to be on purple vinyl, but the plant made a mistake and also shipped us out a bunch on clear. I've given the majority of the clear to the band, but also put 40 copies up for sale.)

Order at http://www.staticshockrecords.com

Get in touch for wholesale or potential trades. (Not available to the USA - Please get in touch with Sorry State Records or Grave Mistake Records, they'll happily sort you out.)

NEXT UP:
SSR12 - HYGIENE 7"

Hi, just thought I'd post my current distro update here as I've managed to pick up a bunch of more Termbo friendly records that people may be looking for (like the new Total Control lp and split, new Spits lp, Chosen Few 12", Dolly Mixture LP, Love Triangle 7" etc) at pretty good prices.

I'm also releasing new records by BRAIN F and HYGIENE in the next few weeks, so keep an eye out for those, and will let everyone know about those as soon as they are ready to go!

Hi and welcome to the October distro update! I think this is definitely the biggest one I've done yet. Close to forty new titles have been added, including a bunch of the latest records from DIRE (Love Triangle, Sceptres, Abandon Ship), VIDEO DISEASE (Crooked Cross, 'title in Japanese'), TOXIC STATE (Perdition, Hank Wood), KATOGRA WORKS (Rational Animals, Avon Ladies, Wiccans) GOING UNDERGROUND (Chosen Few, No Funeral) to name but a few.

I've also managed to get hold of copies of the latest records from The Spits and Total Control (including the split lp with Thee Oh Sees), not many distros, especially in the UK have these yet, so I'm stoked to be able to stock them, all are essential. The Total Control lp is definitely end of year chart material.
On the reissue front, there's a bunch of killer records too, namely the Bastard reissue on 540, the forementioned Chosen Few 12", Crow and others.

On the label front, the BRAIN F debut lp 'Sleep Rough' will be out in a couple of weeks! Tests have arrived and sound great, and the covers are at the printers as we speak, so keep an eye out for that. I'll send an email once it's ready!

Thanks for the ongong support, and to order anything, just check out the site at http://www.staticshockrecords.com
Cheers!

FRANCIS HAROLD AND THE HOLOGRAMS (usa) are coming to the UK for the first time to play a handful of gigs this September. If you're unaware of the band they have put out records on Hozac and Going Underground and play a reverb heavy blown out mix of obnoxious punk and noise rock. If you're into Flipper, Clockcleaner, Pissed Jeans etc you'll definitely get a kick out of these guys.

The tour is pretty much booked now, but I have one hole to fill as the Glasgow show fell through. If anyone's interested in helping out, just shoot me an email on tomellis1982 at gmail.com

Friday 2nd September - Power Lunches  - London
Saturday 3rd September - Fox and Newt - Leeds
Sunday 4th September - Help needed!
Monday 5th September - The Chamelon - Nottingham
Tuesday 6th September - The Green Door Store, Brighton
Wednesday 7th September -  London, TBA

Can also add a show on the 1st if anyone was interested. Maybe Wales?

I'll update with further details as they come in.

DEAF MUTATIONS - CRASH THE CLUBS 7" OUT NOW!

After almost two years in the making, the DEAF MUATIONS 7" is finally now available to order. DEAF MUTATIONS is the brainchild of Dave Brown (also of Career Suicide) and they play violent, hardcore punk that wouldn't sound out of place on the Master Tape comp. The recordings on this 7" were originally released in late 2008 as a very limited cassette that didn't really make it out of Toronto. So needless to say, we're pretty thrilled to put this out and hopefully help this recording get the attention it deserves. At the request of the band, this is a one-time pressing of 500 copies.

Listen to 'Crash The Clubs' here: http://soundcloud.com/static-shock-records/deaf-mutations-crash-the-clubs

Here's what Terminal Boredom had to say of the original tape:
"Furious and burning straight-Eighties styled US hardcore EP-style tapewhich would make for a better hardcore 7" A-Side than a lot of thisother bullshit wasting oil these days. Half of Career Suicide ditchingthe "nicer", more accessible punk-style leanings of that group for amore violent approach, with the always busy Jonah Falco (also thedrummer of Fucked Up for those keeping tabs) doling out guitar blazethat could remind you of just about any band on the Master Tape andDavis switching from drums to wild vox spitting. I'm sure the bassplayer and drummer are in some other bands too, but hey, I don't knoweverything. Three songs, perfectly raw recording, no bullshit moves,pedal-to-the-floor intensity throughout. "Mutation Shuffle" sounds justplain hateful and I hope they're writing "My Feces Pt.2" as I writethis. Pretty short tape though, I would've liked a few moretracks...(RK)"

In other news, I've picked up a big bunch of new records that are now in the distro, about 40 titles in all for this month, including among others, the new MAD MEN 7", both new DOUBLE NEGATIVE singles, the DOLLY MIXTURE singles lp, THE SCIENTISTS reissue 7", SOCIAL CIRCKLE's tour ep, all recent Sorry State records releases and a bunch more. Also coming in the next few days is the CRAZY SPIRIT demo lp, the latest issue of Artcore zine, a Grave Mistake package, and a big load of records that will be saved for the July update, a lot of which won't be available many (if any) other places in the UK/Europe.

Upcoming releases in the works:
BRAIN F# - Sleep Rough LP (European pressing)
VIOLENT REACTION - 7" flexi
HYGIENE 7"

New Releases For Sale/Distro Updates / PO: KLEENEX - S/T 7" Reissue
« on: April 07, 2011, 01:26:18 PM »
Posting this on behalf of a friend, definitely worth checking out though!

---

The latest release on For Us Records is now available for pre-order, and it's definitely a killer:

FU044: KLEENEX - S/T 7"

Pre-order this 7" and get a coloured vinyl version and hand coloured sleeve. For Us Records - the label of Rough Trade Shops, reissues the classic debut Kleenex single. The four track 7" was originally released in 1978 in Switzerland on Sunrise Records and later picked up by Rough Trade and released as rt009. This reissue 7" comes in a folded 14x14" inch sized poster sleeve. You can't dispute Kleenex's status as pioneers of feminist art-punk. Along with fellow travelers like the Slits and the Raincoats, this (mostly) female Swiss group took advantage of post punk / punk's anything-goes attitude and created jittery, spirited pop that was both in step with the times and completely singular. Their sound was built on a propulsive bass, skittering pop rhythms, slashing guitars - and adding distinctive overlapping vocal patterns, which are sung, shrieked, and hiccupped in three languages and made-up dadaistic slang. More than 30 years on, it still sounds fresh and groundbreaking.

Test presses have been approved. This will ship at the start of June. We don't charge your card until the record is ready to ship to avoid any potential hassle.

Like the Dolly Mixture lp, the limited version is limited to how many people order up-front, so if 68 people order, 75 limited copies will be pressed, if 284 order, 300 will be pressed and so forth. If you have any questions, please email sean@roughtrade.com

The Dolly Mixture lp is also almost ready to be shipped now and can still be ordered from this link: http://tinyurl.com/66nnrsh

pre order the album and recieve a coloured vinyl version. this is the only way to get a coloured vinyl version. 16 track limited vinyl album on our own for us records that compiles all of dolly mixture's 7" and 12" released between 1980 and 1984 on chrysalis, respond records, dead good dolly platters and cordelia records. this is the first time they have been released on vinyl since their original release. if you bought all five original singles - you'd have no change from 120 pounds. dolly mixture were like the shangri-la's or the go-go's if they had any class. or the raincoats without the weirdness and electric violins. dolly mixture toured with the undertones, played john peel's 40th birthday party, recorded a wealth of true pop classics, gave u2 a support-act leg-up, wrote songs for lena zavaroni and influenced the whole riot grrrl movement. but floored by on-the-road illness, decooled by captain sensible and dismissed as 'the slits meet the nolans' by a uk music industry too hung up on black leather hipness.

As I'm sure a few of you will want to know. The amount of coloured vinyl being pressed is being dictated by the amount of pre-orders that come in. So if say, 247 people pre-order, 250 will be pressed. If 38 people pre-order, 50 will get pressed and so on. The record will stay in print, so don't worry about a Demonstration Tapes-esque fiasco.

This will ship out mid-April. We don't charge your card until it's ready to go out.
