last 2 books i read: hemingway - garden of eden. meh. posthumously published and edited by scribner from an 800 page manuscript to a 200 page book. it's not all the publisher's fault though because those 200 pages aren't any good either.

j. m. coetzee - disgrace. great book. a little to much symbolism maybe. sparse language, bleak atmosphere.

just started 'an american dream' by norman mailer. still too early to tell.

I don't think it was even the thornton hits that knocked orpik out, didn't even have his gloves off. he hit a teammate's knee on the way down or something, it's hard to see. it was stupid but in no way does it justify a lifetime ban. the neal hit was way dirtier. he was just lucky he didn't knock marchand out. deliberate knee to the head? come on..

I don't think they're trying to be funny either, citing peter sotos or georges bataille as influences. I do think that it's all a big misunderstanding though and the lyrics are shitty, the bad kind of shitty. music is great. have pre-ordered the new record but not received it yet.
