Music Shit / Re: nerdy pressing details thread

It is legit. I picked one up several years ago and my copy has the dust sleeve glued to the inside of the sleeve. It also says "Only 1000 pressed" on the back.

Haha! It took me a second myself to realize that that price was for 25 copies.

That was a box of 25 copies sold for a little over a grand. Roughly, that's about $40 a copy. Personally, I kinda dig this record and wouldn't mind getting a copy.

The Highway Patrol 7" is pretty damn good and really hasn't garnished much hype. John Wayne's Dead would make a nice comp cut.

Ends tomorrow.

I didn't know if this thing was just an extremely low pressed record or the bulk of it got tossed. Either way as you stated, very rare. My copy was one of the 3 I had mentioned earlier. It was a BIT at not a complete steal but, considering what this last copy went for, I got it at a very nice price.

That record is so rare there is no established price on it.

Has anyone ever got the pressing info on this one? I always figured this thing was in the ballpark of $800 to $1000 on a heavy bidding day as they never pop up.

3 copies popped up via eBay about a year ago. They came from the drummer if my memory is correct. Another collector told me they contacted the seller and they said that was all they had and none have popped up since until this recent one.

My wife had this birthday cake made for me and several of my friends thought that I had actually dressed up as Ric Flair and had this photo taken.

Different songs that I think were from the first 7" recording session. I know that the This Moment In Black history song Hung Up was originally an early Neon King Kong. That band had some hits and tore it up live.

That Neon King Kong tape i've never even heard of that. Want.

The tape is pretty good, it's with their original drummer if I'm not mistaken.

LOL I remember those terrible Welt tapes with the lame ass wanna be Social Distortion dice and clown graphics.

I saw Hank Rank playing in the Pussy Ramblers or whatever they were called with Michael Lucas a few years back.  He was not in police costume nor duck facing, but he, for the most part, looked the same.

You're talking about the Pootang Wranglers. I saw them at the Dog track in Phoenix around 02, they played in the lounge area.

Has anyone actually had records stolen by him, or is it all just these losers like the kbdrecords guy getting flim-flammed on trades? I met up with him last summer, traded some tasty platters, and everything was totally cool. He was really into the unknown "local" type stuff, I traded him a few Boston area dollar binners for some cool $20-30 singles.

There is a story about him trying to lift some records out if MRR years ago, he's apparently banned from there. He's also been banned from a couple of so cal stores, I believe Vinyl Soloution is one of them.  He's also traded some records in the past with photo copied sleeves and said they were orig.
