Scott has a really good point. I've lived in Bakersfield most of my life and I can honestly say that even though we're 90 minutes from LA, it's a different world , things move slower here which is not really a bad thing. Most of the central valley is more like the mid west as far as values and religion goes. Prisons and oil filed work is big here. Cage fighting and lame assholes who think they're Mike Ness is also on the up in these parts. Rent is so cheap here, that would be one of the only things keeping my girlfriend and I from moving to LA. I cringe when thinking about my half of the rent being around $700 or $800 in LA and here it is $240. How am I suppose to buy records then? O'ya, the Mexican food kills here! .89 tacos which actually really good, can't beat it.
